It sure didn't affect his rookie year. IIRC He had a similar instance of missing OTAs and training camp to injury & didn't do much until preseason.

It was due to the NFL lockout

Because CMC is extremely talented. He juked plenty of college DB's out of their shorts, so why should any LBer give him problems?

McCaffrey is one of the most agile players to enter the NFL in a long time. Asking any LB, regardless of how good they are, to defend him 1v1 is going to be difficult and likely end up poorly. I doubt anyone is cooking Kuechly consistently in a live game.
