I wanted Fournette also, but Fournette ultimately wasn't an option for us. We got the prize behind door B, and it looks like a good one, and may---just may---be a better fit for what we need right now.

Fournette may be a good one, even great, but it's easier to find and replace a power back than it is someone with the rare skill set that McCaffrey possesses. Even more, someone with CMC's skill set that has a genuine, meaningful, positional football pedigree (see the Manning Bros).

So, it's hardly a time for regrets. Enjoy the potential greatness that will hopefully unfold.

Cook and Mixon are knuckleheads but early on-field reviews are great.  We could have had Barnett, Hooker, Howard, et al as well.  Certainly it looks like we made the right pick now but the ability to affect 1/3 of the game (special teams) and also free up the need to carry another return specialist is HUGE.  Huge letdown if he's not our return man.

I guarantee McCaffrey has a MUCH longer career than Fournette. He was the better long term pick for sure.
