Interesting thread.  I think it's true that misery loves company... I do feel a bit better after reading some of this stuff.

TBH, Any moaning or groaning I might have wanted to indulge in re: the DG firing has been getting shut down by my excitement for real football and the buzz of watching CMC.  So much fun.  It really almost makes 6-10 worth it!

And, I'm grateful.  Reading of what the Ravens are going through with terrible injury upon terrible injury, over & over, is just heart-sickening.  I'm relieved our drama is a lot less serious. 

Would I prefer DG to still be our GM, yes.  But do I think Hurney for 1 year as an interim* will destroy all DG built and all the potential of this team and what could be a truly special season?  NO.  

*[I know all the speculation that Hurney is "interim in name only" and see where that's coming from.  Right now we've got football to play.  I'm not gonna worry about this until February.  It's out of our hands anyway.]

I kinda doubt Dave wants another GM gig all that much.

If you take off the homer shades, you're going to realize that outside of his fan club here, not everyone has been enamored with his management style. If he is interviewed for any spots next offseason, you can guarantee that subject is going to be quite relevant. Regardless of how we feel about JR here, many of the current owners are similar in their approach. To be completely honest, I'm not sure Dave gets the sort of leeway he did here on too many other teams in the league. When you need a guy like Brandon Beane as a buffer/diffuser of sorts for a 66 year old adult male, it's a bit of a head scratcher, and looks sketch. Sure the ruthlessness and blatant arrogance is hilarious to meathead fans that probably celebrate opposing team injuries, but owners are ultimately about that dollar when it boils down to it, and a divided locker room is bad for business.

Ultimately Dave wasn't without his missteps, but he did bring a lot of good to this franchise, just how much that good ultimately outweighed the negative will remain to be seen over time. I guess we'll find out.

Don't be naive. You're going to tell me that every single team has a better GM than him? So by that logic you believe he was the worst GM in the league. Wow. 

Actually, I'm tired of talking about Gettleman on here. Your opinion on the guy doesn't mean anything to me. I won't respond anymore

So your logic is, if I don't think recently fired Dave Gettleman is lightyears better than every current general manager in the NFL, then I basically think he is the worst GM ever?
