Uh because he was pretty fuging good at his job and now we have entered the twilight zone of Marty fuging Hurney.

Steve Smith was pretty good at his job and we entered the Twilight zone of Marvin McNutt.

Josh Norman was pretty good at his job and we entered the Twilight zone of rookie CBs.

You mean Kelvin Benjamin?

Ill give you rookie cornerbacks but this is a shitty comparison.

I love how the guys complaining about those defending Gettleman and object to his firing are the same guys beating this dead horse and stirring up the conversation they supposedly are tired of hearing.

Well that's your right to look at it this way, and I'm certainly not surprised,  but I'm just trying to bring some objectivity and, more importantly, some understanding and a semblance of closure to a trying situation. It's as simple as that.

As GM of the Carolina Panthers, here was the most important thing to Dave Gettleman:

Honest man and we had our differences that's about the best way to sum it up. Props.

No, this wasn't a business decision. This was a knee jerk reaction on par with the Dan Snyders, Al Davis', and Jed Yorks of the biz. That's the reality.

But hey, I guess you're fine with a finger puppet making the 'decisions'. Time to extend TD for another 4 years for 52 Million. Let's see how fine you are with this firing when begin to lose starting talent, descend to cap hell again and pick up 5-7 busts in one draft.

Preach it dude! These folks can't see or understand but they will.

He was fired because he couldn't do part of his job even remotely competently (interfacing with players). Absolutely a business decision. Was it a good one? We'll have to see.

No more knee-jerk than cutting your only good receiver with nobody to replace him, or stripping the franchise tag from your All-Pro corner with no replacements ready.

I'm skeptical of the move. I'm also not more attached Gettleman than my own team.

Look, G-Man was his own man. He may have not been the nicest guy in the room and his methods weren't for the faint of heart but he was our version of our big uglies protecting Cam. He put the organization first. Not himself or ANY player.

Let's face it. Norman, Smitty and DeAngelo aren't good examples simply because they're a bunch of divas who can't deal with damage to their ego.

Business is cold. Gettleman wasn't the only GM who performed this way.

This. All day.

Let's face it tho, we absolutely needed him and his curtness to dig us out of the hole we were in financially. It would have turned into a firesale a la the Miami Marlins, had it not come to a screeching halt by Gettleman. Some of the moves were questionable, yes... But nobody bats 1.000. I just hope to the Brother Upstairs that Hurney or whomever we get long term will be able to be a bit more business minded like the G Man.

This isn't really new info. It actually just confirms what's already been the primary speculation since it happened.

It was based on that speculation that people proclaimed this to be a sh--ty decision.

So now, speculation confirmed, which means dumbass decision confirmed.
