QB Cam Newton - A Bit Of Touch Here On A Perfect Pass To Kelvin Benjamin

One lazy argument people like to say is the statement that "Cam Newton doesn't have touch." They assume all he does is rocket every single pass he ever throws over receivers heads on every throw.

Well, this throw right here pretty much eradicates that argument:

On the play above, watch as Cam Newton steps up with feet facing the receiver. After the step up, Cam launches the ball into the air on one of the most beautiful passes I've seen. It lands right where only Benjamin could catch it, and turns into a pretty good play.

Whether you assume this is a supposed new development or not, understand Cam Newton can and has thrown with touch.

Gorgeous pass, great mechanics. Put it where only his receiver could get it. I say that's textbook touch on the ball.

Cam definitely has some touch, but he could definitely make better use of it at times.

This is what happens when a qb is not under pressure. We have had one season where that actually happened. And well everyone knows where we ended up that year. Problem is he was pressured to much in the most important one. But yeah, you catch my drift.

The irony is that any other QB would've been clobbered in Cam's shoes. It could've been a whole lot worse if it weren't for Cam's pocket presence and feel:

But yes, with time, Cam Newton can manipulate the pocket and actually be able to use his mechanics/step up/have time to throw a picture perfect pass.
