LT Matt Kalil Showing Up Addison While Remmers Is Being A Turnstile in Minnesota

Do you even know what you mean?
My posts here were talking about our approach to our OL depth dating all the way back to 2012 when our franchise left tackle was released. We kept putting bandaids everywhere along the OL, and it finally cost us the ultimate prize. We got to SB50 on the back of Cam Newton. Once we got there it was our efforts or lackthereof on the OL that lost us the biggest game in the history of our franchise. This isn't debatable.

It is debatable though. In 2015, we had ten players that were selected for the pro bowl. You're saying that we lost in the Super Bowl because one of those pro bowlers wasn't Remmers. That's weak.

Did Remmers play well? No. If he had played well, would it have increased our chances of winning? Yes.

Know what else would have increased our chances of winning... Cotchery not mishandling two or three passes. Tolbert not fumbling twice. Cam not throwing an interception like thirty yards from the end zone. Ginn not mishandling the pass that led to the interception. Stewart not getting hurt. Philly Brown (our only consistent receiver that game) not getting hurt. Norman intercepting any of the two or three passes that he got both his hands on. Our special teams not allowing a punt to almost be returned for a touchdown. Gano not missing a field goal. Our receivers getting open more quickly, so that our tackles weren't under so much pressure.

We just made too many mistakes in that game. Remmers got killed in that game. But he wasn't the worst tackle in the league then, and he's not the worst in the league now.

No one is crowning him. However, Kalil was able to handle one of best pass rushers from last season after a rocky start. Let the man get his poo together.

I'd say its a promising sign but not much else unless he's out there pancaking all his assignments through the preseason as well. Nothing like a more diverse, larger sample size to get a better prediction is what i was trying to say.

Luckily for Kalil we're starting the regular season off against teams that dont have all star speed rushers . And the schedule is just more forgiving in general this year. Even the good teams we play I'm not expecting to have out of this world rush D , besides Vikings and maybe Falcons .

Don't forget refs too though. I'll never let it down.

I didn't want Gettleman fired, he did a lot of good for us. But I will not be able to ever forgive him and Ron for the lackluster effort of addressing our OL since Gross made his exit. I think they both cost us a Super Bowl frankly. But homers are gonna homer here on the huddle.

We only lost one game that whole season, I'm not sure you can say Remmers wasn't a part of that. The biggest issue was the game plan for blocking Miller. Not to mention the Broncos front seven was on fire by that point. Tom Brady says hello from two weeks prior to the Superb Owl.

We get Matt Kalil who just needed a little hip surgery to get back to form.

I think him fixing his hip could be huge.  But apparently we have also been tinkering with his technique quite a bit.  Minnesota was so focused on the run that I can easily see them lacking a bit in pass blocking technique (and I have heard that wasn't an emphasis for them).  So, a little corrective surgery and fixing his technique will hopefully allow us to have stolen the player the Vikings thought they were drafting.

And I do expect Kalil to have some ups and downs in camp this year since I'm sure he'll be a bit rusty after missing most of last season.

for someone who keeps talking about how ppl should move on from gettleman, you sure like to talk about how much you hated what he did here.

Yep, the overreactions to Kalil struggling on the first day minus pads were greatly exaggerated.

He's going to have some ups and downs throughout camp and it'll be quite humorous watching the Huddle's corresponding peaks and valleys. Super Bowlz!!!! Followed by, Oh noes!!! Back to 4-12!!! Time to look at the top OTs in next year's draft!

Can't have enough o line depth

If we win a Super Bowl this year I'll move on. Until then I will wonder if we had done more for the OL in 2015 it might have been enough for our offense to best duck throwing Peyton Manning who was a shell of himself at that point.

Come at me bro.
