LT Matt Kalil Showing Up Addison While Remmers Is Being A Turnstile in Minnesota

I've been a Matt Kalil skeptic for quite some time. His tape from the past showed lack of explosiveness and finding himself smashed on more than one occasion.

However, looks like he's finally turning it around in training camp. Watch him handle Addison nicely and keep him from doing anything on this rep.

A good sign that maybe that hip surgery is fixing in and allowing him to finally get the hang of some things. Hope this will continue to be a trend and the norm.

Meanwhile, Mike Remmers is doing what he does best in Minnesota: being a turnstile.

Nothing new. We get Matt Kalil who just needed a little hip surgery to get back to form. They get Remmers and realize he's a scrub no matter what they do.

Works out quite well.

So didn't Igo just post a thread a day or so ago stating his concerns with Kalil because Addison was owning him in camp? I'm confused.

Without pads, the D-line generally has an advantage. With Kalil being fine the first day with pads, I think that's something to look forward to.

Yep, the overreactions to Kalil struggling on the first day minus pads were greatly exaggerated.

He's going to have some ups and downs throughout camp and it'll be quite humorous watching the Huddle's corresponding peaks and valleys. Super Bowlz!!!! Followed by, Oh noes!!! Back to 4-12!!! Time to look at the top OTs in next year's draft!

Remmers, and before him Nate Chandler, were two of the all time worst Panthers players at any position.

lol I remember when we extended Chandler and most of the huddle was sucking Gettleman's dick.

A sports writer described Chandler's pass blocking style as "turning into a pillar of ash upon initial contact and disintegrating." He wasn't wrong.

I once described Remmers as looking like he was suffering from vertigo out of the field. I still think he has undiagnosed vertigo.

    • I find it more like now that I have been forced to watch Young so much it isn’t as much of a shock to my senses.   Desensitized they call it.   For real, it just looks normal almost now. Where the first game of 2023 I wasn’t sure what I was looking at it was so out of bounds for NFL type play. I literally couldn’t make sense of what I had seen vs Atlanta that first week.
    • Lynch in SF. Great is subjective but he has done pretty well there.
    • Sure, except Stroud has the ability to stretch the field with deep passes. He did that often last night with ease, but couldn’t connect on many due to being flustered by the defense. BY9 gets flustered and can’t throw screens, let alone even think about any deeper passes. Stroud would’ve changed the franchise and done more with the situation last year. My thought at least.    the hope is that last year showed tepper that he needed to step back from football decisions. There’s a positive in most situations and maybe we’ll see a new tepper in the near future.
