People have to remember that Matt Kalil barely played at all last year, he's coming off of surgery, and he's on a new team with new coaches and a different way of doing things. It would have been more surprising if he WASN'T a little rusty in that first practice.

Just now, Captain Morgan said:

starting to think Sanchez is Gett's biggest whiff.  5th rounder at a position of extreme need and he couldn't even make the team.

If your "biggest whiff" is a 5th rounder then you are doing pretty good. I would say Kony Ealy is a bigger whiff for Gett, and if Funchess doesn't pan out he would be a bigger whiff as well.

That wasn't directed to just you - there were plenty of these yesterday.

But I do disagree that was a silly take. He's looking good, but players can always get better. Just because he's had a nice couple of days doesn't mean we should just dismiss the need and importance of it.

I'm just ready to move on from the "told you so"s and let's all be happy this kid looks like a baller.

No, it was absolutely a silly take because the assertion was that a player choosing to spend time with family for a reason important to them and with circumstances unbeknownst to fans, let alone during a completely voluntary activity scheduled who knows how long before it happened, calls their "commitment" into question. It's silly, plain and simple.

I respect your take. I disagree. Many others did as well. It's all good.
