So many over reactions still. I'll hold my judgements of Samuel until I see how he actually performs in a real game. I've not heard mention of Kalil owning anyone except Mario Addison in particular.

If someone has one bad practice (or for some of you even 1 bad play in a practice), that's not a guarantee that they'll suck the entire season. Come on.

OK but who do we have that's better than Addison on that side? He was one of the best 3rd down pass rushers in the league last year. From what I understand, Peppers will mostly be in his old spot rushing from the left side of the defense.

You're definitely right to withhold judgement though.

rookie already hurt...don't like the sound of that

I admit its not a good sign when you haven't played a down in the NFL yet and you already have nagging injuries keeping you from fully integrating into the offense.

You make it sound like he was a 1st rounder dude. Once you start getting past the 3rd round the draft largely turns into a crapshoot. If you get lucky and get a hit, good, if not, oh well and move on.

I know what you mean, but they contribute (d).  80% of 5th round picks make the team their first year.   80% is far from a crap shoot.

To read the table the rows represent the round the players were drafted in while the columns show what percentage of players were on the team after that specific year. For example 96.8% of all 2nd round picks are on the team's active roster that drafted them at the start of year one but only 83.9% at the start of year three.

Round Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5
1 99.7% 93.5% 83.9% 77.4% 71.0%
2 96.8% 96.1% 83.9% 74.2% 41.9%
3 96.9% 75.1% 62.5% 37.5% 18.8%
4 91.4% 74.3% 54.3% 34.3% 17.2%
5 81.1% 56.8% 37.8% 24.3% 16.2%
6 70.2% 57.5% 35.3% 20.9% 10.6%
7 58.3% 45.8% 31.3% 21.7% 16.7%
