Why would Cam write a letter to someone that punched him twice in the face?

I mean they're dudes. I know plenty of dudes who have come to blows but are still the best of friends.

I'm not saying they're the best of friends, but I'm sure there's some mutual respect between the the two.

Game recognizes game and all that.

I see the claims of inside sources but after years of seeing this you will have to forgive me if I'm a bit skeptical ya know lol.

you should be skeptical. but so is everyone in this thread. no one is being gullible. the entire thing is everyone collectively weighing the evidence. you should re-read the thread

Beyond the source issue, I'm not putting it past Steve to do something like this. I'm sure things got heated between them a few times over things. But from my own perspective, I have doubts if actual punches were thrown to the face, and landed, that Newton would go out of his way to personally pen a letter to the man. I know the argument is "brothers fight all the time, and make up again!!!", but that's a bit of a cliche trope.

Overall regardless, 89 has a spotty legacy here.

But if I'm being honest, it's a pretty sad indictment on our fanbase that fans here are practically giddy at the thought of our franchise QB getting decked if it means painting Steve Smith in a bad light since he is now one of the most disliked Panthers in history conveniently after he stops scoring touchdowns for the same fickle people to scream and cheer for.

It absolutely isn't a cliché. Guys fight and get over the poo. That's how guys are.

And oh look red is back to bashing the fan base again... I agree with you most of the time when you do it but not this time. If Steve did it, the fans are right for the way they're responding. And since he has a history of doing it, it's far more believable

He was painted in a bad light a long time ago.

I knew sooner or later he was going to start his crap. As soon as I read the thread title when it was first posted, I was like "I know who is going to be a pain in here".

Yeah, I was wondering about that.

I've read the whole thread, and my first question reading that was "Who's giddy?"

Other than a few pissed off "how dare you question Steve" ranters, the responses have been pretty measured.

Did Ken Lucas getting sucker punched stop any of you guys from cheering when Steve Smith was spinning footballs on the ground, and angrily getting in opposing players faces week in and week out? Don't even embarrass yourself, and try to say no.

Oh, @uncfan888 @KillerKat, we do have an awful fanbase. Not quite the Browns, but we have some of the most fickle people I've ever encountered posting here. I'm sorry if that truth hurts, but it's the truth nonetheless. Even longtime posters like OP have participated in the trashing of guys like Olsen and TD throughout the last week. What's ironic is the same posters are bizarrely unaware that in doing so they look like complete jack asses for posturing about players getting assaulted as if they actually give a damn.

Mr. Scot: "Just when I thought I was out...they pulled me back in"
