Funchess is 23 years old. I'm not giving up on him yet.

The MFCEO has spoken!

Pretty well actually.

Owned. And meanwhile gooby only showed one gif. Evidence is still on your side Saca.

I for one believe we should all reserve judgment on Funchess till after this season. If he still has a terrible season, then let him walk in free agency. This is a contract year after all isn't it?

Yep. I addressed that in the main thread. Funchess doesn't get much separation, so his route-running and moves has to be precise to compensate. Sort of like Mike Evans in a way.

Coming off a disappointing 6-10 season, WR Devin Funchess had 23 receptions out of 59 targets for a total of 371 yards. He accounted for 11 failed receptions on accurate throws, and the 4th worst in the NFL at getting separation. His only bright spot was gaining YAC, as he was 11th most productive in the league.

Mike Evans knows how to use his body and isn't afraid to bully a corner.

There is a HUGE difference between Evans and Funchess. Evans will make up for a crappy route much like KB with his muscle, Funchess will not.

People still probably won't believe that Funchess gets open as much as he does, but I know what I see. Those gifs should make anyone pause and not be too hasty to consider him a bust. There is just too much promise there. He looks like an outstanding route runner that, with a little more consistency, has the potential to be exceptional.

But I will stop talking. It's time for Devin to do his thing. Hopefully Cam and the coaches will give him the serious opportunities that he is due.

If they are serious about "evolving" into a speedier offense, then they have to give him more looks.

Not sure if Funch will work out or not, but I sure am pulling for him.

We finally have what can make this offense tick....IMO.

KB and Funch, both huge WR's that play small...hopefully this is the year they turn that corner.

Greg still getting it done, and finally some legit speed and quickness in CMC and Samuel.

We should be a better, less predictable offense this season.

A lot of players have the sophmore slump. I have a feeling Funchess is about to have a big year. He may well supplant Benjamin as the go to guy.

Tbh I think he has more upside than KB.

We'll see how he works out. I'm optimistic.
