Here's the problem...

Darin Gantt summarizes all you need to know to understand the primary reason why the Panthers are struggling this year:

In 2008, they averaged 31.5 rushing attempts per game, sixth-most in the league. At the same time, they averaged just 25.9 pass attempts per game, fewest in the league.

This year, they've flipped the script — 27th in rush attempts (23.7 per game) and 8th in passes thrown (36.0).

I don't care if we're down by 20 in the 4th quarter, when you've got two explosive backs like Williams and Stewart RUN THE BALL.

On top of that, I remember seeing a stat somewhere that when Jake is asked to throw the ball more than 25 times a game, we lose.

I'm so with you on this. It's sickening, at least to me, every game that we don't just pound the ball and control the clock.

More than that, it's stupidity on the part of Fox. That's why if he doesn't change his stupid ways, he needs to go!@

Yup, especially when Jake starts to struggle - it's like we ask him to throw the ball more?

Fox's mantra: Run the ball, stop the run. We've gotten so far away from that at this point that I don't even recognize this team.

That's been my biggest problem with the whole damned fiasco. And that's what it is at this point. A fugin fiasco!! Fox has his head in the sand by not running the ball and having Jake keeping make inept throws when Steve has 50% of the fugin field covering him!

I can handle a lot but this poo has me yelling at the tv. There's no excuse for not running DeAngelo and Stewart. It's a bad joke, a tease for a girlfriend, low point beer, shitty weed, and a truck without 1st gear!~

Dipshit Fox has to figure this out and soon!!!!!!!!

rant off

If we would have stuck with the running game vs Dallas I'm almost positive we would have won. So what if the o line isn't run blocking like behemoths like last year? That's why we have 2 very talented 1st round RBs. People talk about a 1st round pick being wasted on Brown, well you can add another wasted when Stewart only gets 3 rushes in a game.

“We were in a lot of two-minute situations or no-huddle situations. Right before the half, there weren't a lot of runs, and when you're down six and then down 14 late in the game, you're in a no-huddle situation.

Horseshit. There was plenty of time left in the game

when you make a "game managing QB" try to throw it more than making a top 5 RB duo run the ball you have a major problem. Everybody is wondering why our defense is doing so bad and they have a point. Bad tackling, mental errors are something, but when the defense is on the field 70% of the time you have a problem. Ive had many posts defending john fox and our FO but Ill quote "mostly" everyone on the huddle when I say its time for a fu&kin change.

Maybe he's not 100%. Didn't Beason say he wasn't feeling well or something?

Hell I don't think he was 100% last year either. We should be running so much that Stewart should just come in to give Deangelo a break if he's not fully up to speed. If he is healthy we should be running enough to give each 15 carries.

I think there should be way more run plays as well; just suggesting why Stewart might be getting limited play.

    • Current draft order NYG, NE, JAX, TN, CLE, LV, CAR. We need to ask ourselves "what is the biggest need of those teams heading into the draft"? And, "What positions do we know are not major needs for the teams above?" JAX is terrible, but we know they won't be drafting a QB. The Patriots won't be either. The Raiders and Giants definitely need a QB. The Browns have one under contract, but he's been terrible since they signed him. I could see all 3 of them eyeing QB's. Hunter is a wild card. He could be the first player taken. Or, he could slip because some teams may not want to deal with his insistence on playing both ways. A team with a bad O-line may want to go LT TMAC is going to appeal to a team that needs a playmaker at WR. If CB is major need, I could see Will Thomas (or Hunter) coming off the board prior to our selection at #7. It's possible that Graham could fall into our laps. Then again we haven't factored FA into the equation. A lot of these teams will lure some players just because of the large amount of dollars they afford to play them and fix some needs before the draft. It's going to be an interesting off-season.
    • Sure, but despite being targeted less, he has more TDs than Odunze and more y/r than Nabers (and same number of TDs).  He's got a very similar y/r as Worthy.  He isn't stacking up that poorly to other WRs, but he has trailed off late - something that imo may indicate injury or needing to improve conditioning. He's not ever gonna be the best WR in this draft class, but he'll be in the top 3-5 with a bit of improvement imo.
    • Oh for sure. With Rod it’s never the defenses fault. I think someone posted this in Reddit a while back. Rod with the forwards. Rod with the defense.
