Hurney fired Mark Koncz

I second this question.

I know virtually nothing about Koncz except what I read about him today, that he's been with the team since its founding.

So I want to know why on earth Hurney / Jerry would can him so suddenly now.

I really don't have the faintest idea, but I do know its a terrible look for an "interim" GM to come in and immediately fire one of the few inside people whose name has been bandied about as a potential permanent replacement.  Maybe there's a legitimate reason but right now it looks really bad.

I hope Hurney and/or JR have a press conference to discuss this.  (I know that's also probably a pipe dream).

I was really trying to be level headed about this whole past week, but they are making it really difficult.

Meh. I'm willing to bet there's a lot more to it than we will know. In the end, I prefer to look at it as there was a cancer growing and we're witnessing the bloody cure. In the end, the team will be better for it and I'm reassessing my 19-0 prediction to 22-0.

There was no cancer, they just wanted to go in a different direction than they were previously headed

Gettleman wasn't a terrible GM but his style of running the team didn't appease the owner anymore, so he's not here. If Hurney fails he'll be gone. I don't root for new hires/signings/picks/even re-hires to fail, so I'm not going to cry about Gettleman/wish death on JR or other posters/write long-winded, self-serving posts to boost my ego/pick a new team (Raiders maybe)

I think we can still go 11-5 and win the division if we win the close games and don't choke on defense or struggle to run the ball with a lead

[prepares for more "oh no, it's retarded" dog memes]

Why is it so hard for some people to give gettleman his credit and admit that his firing was a terrible move? Seems clear as day

Because that's an opinion, not a fact and it has not been proven. Zero games have been played. It might end up true, but praying it ends up true is not the same as it already being a reality.

Because we don't know that it was a terrible move. Have you ever served under toxic leadership? It can seem effective from the outside but from the inside it can be hell.

IF DG was perceived that way, then getting rid of him and those that refuse to work under the new regime is the right move.

He was successful in many ways, but toxic leaders usually get results from the outside looking in...for a while.

This is the explanation that makes the most sense to me.

The problem is NOT people giving G-man credit, it's the Gettlegod worshipers who self-righteously declare that G-man did no wrong and omnisciently declare that we're going to suck for eternity because of moves that they fail to agree with or understand.

The timing was terrible, I will give you that, but like I ALWAYS say, there is more than one path to success.

It's not an opinion. It is a fact. There is no justifiable reason to fire a successful GM and hire the same GM who put you in the original mess. It's an absolutely horrific move.
