Both Christian McCaffrey and Curtis Samuel are not Dave Gettleman type players. It was widely reported how much Jerry Richardson fell in love with Christian during his pre-draft visit. I have no doubt in my mind if Richardson didn't meddle, this offseason would have been much different.

The final straw was Thomas Davis (forget Greg Olsen). Davis is Richardson's favorite player on the team. The two players he is closest to are Charles Johnson and Thomas Davis, this is a fact. Don't downplay how the Charles Johnson contracts of the past two season played a role in this as well. He knew how popular Davis was with this fan base and how after a 6-10 disappointing season, he could get away with making the change now.

To the credit of the majority of this fan base, the idiot was wrong, and people are pissed. To the minority who support this move, it is just a shame. They will forever be Jerry Richardson shills who are willing to put up with mediocrity as long as their hero is running the team. As I've said in past threads, as we continue to mature as a fan base, mediocrity will no longer be accepted and fans like that will be weeded out.

Ownership like this isn't accepted in big markets. Teams would never get away with this in Boston, Philly, or NY. Accountability is demanded by the fans and the media, something this city is in dire need of.

So you are saying Gman was a broken man before he got canned...

It's kinda hard to buy that a guy who's been a loyal employee since the beginning of the franchise suddenly latched on to a new GM and turned against the owner.

If I were guessing, I'd say he was fired for performance reasons.

If I wanted to go conspiracy theory, I'd say Hurney is firing a potential rival.

In the end though, I wasn't a fan of Koncz so this doesn't bother me. It does surprise me though.

If Koncz was close to Gettleman personally or professionally it makes sense. It was DG who promoted him afterall. It would not be hard to believe that Koncz felt DG was the person to align with professionally in this organization. He could have been DG right hand man. They share a scouting background and were likely close considering the recent promotion.

I get that, but they don't actually share a scouting background. Koncz first football job was in the ticket office of the Panthers. He then somehow got a job in scouting a few years in despite having no background there.

I heard a rumor on NFL radio or it maybe was Gnatt on WFNZ.. That Jerry's Grandson unlike his Father and Uncle maybe the one earmarked to be the Next owner.. They said he is a smart guy and more football savy than the other richardson's.. Have you heard this?
