I'm not going to be too terribly disappointed either way, you should know by now that I don't give a fug what anyone on here thinks of me. I mean, I've been on here long enough that that should be fairly obvious

And besides, I can provide some discussion, but it's not what most on here want to hear -- so they're going to just cry anyway. You really agree that this makes us more of a dumpster fire than the Browns? You really think the team won't succeed til JR dies?

That's the poo people say on here. Losing Mark Koncz doesn't affect this team's record. it might play a role behind the scenes, but how they perform in close games determines success or failure far more than Mark Koncz

so let's assume all you said was true. then what does it matter what a bunch of ppl on here are saying as they are protesting this? you obviously do care what ppl think dude. if you didn't you'd sit on your hands and not say poo bc you know, above everybody else, that none of this matters.

you're arguing one thing, and at the same time, acting in such a way that is completely incongruent with your argument. either you have a real problem with ppl spouting opinions that aren't lock step in tow with your own perspective, or you hate that maybe the opinions they have that you don't like actually do have a measure of validity to them. which explains why you're making a distraction out of yourself in this thread, and a number of others.

It is very simple. Gettleman was disrupting Jerry's Good Ole Boys Club. He bit the bullet on Gross and Smith because of how bad it would look if he meddled so early into the Gettleman hiring and after a playoff appearance.

The way Josh Norman was handled definitley crushed him, but how could he justify firing Gettleman after a 15-1 Super Bowl appearance season.

They fell to 6-10 this year and Jerry clearly wasn't happy. He finally found an opportunity to meddle and he jumped all over it.

Voth reported earlier in the offseason that Gettleman was under strict orders to spend money this offseason. This offseason was not a Gettleman offseason at all and looking back at it you can now see Jerry's fingerprints all over it.

Matt Kalil-the brother of one of Jerry's favorite players.

Julius Peppers-former Panther

Captain Munnerlyn-former Panther

Both Christian McCaffrey and Curtis Samuel are not Dave Gettleman type players. It was widely reported how much Jerry Richardson fell in love with Christian during his pre-draft visit. I have no doubt in my mind if Richardson didn't meddle, this offseason would have been much different.

The final straw was Thomas Davis (forget Greg Olsen). Davis is Richardson's favorite player on the team. The two players he is closest to are Charles Johnson and Thomas Davis, this is a fact. Don't downplay how the Charles Johnson contracts of the past two season played a role in this as well. He knew how popular Davis was with this fan base and how after a 6-10 disappointing season, he could get away with making the change now.

To the credit of the majority of this fan base, the idiot was wrong, and people are pissed. To the minority who support this move, it is just a shame. They will forever be Jerry Richardson shills who are willing to put up with mediocrity as long as their hero is running the team. As I've said in past threads, as we continue to mature as a fan base, mediocrity will no longer be accepted and fans like that will be weeded out.

Ownership like this isn't accepted in big markets. Teams would never get away with this in Boston, Philly, or NY. Accountability is demanded by the fans and the media, something this city is in dire need of.

sounds like things all fell into place, good, lets move on and see what we actually have instead of whining about it...

The question was "How do you know?"  Not "What do you think?"

if so they would be on the phone to Gman...

I bet the saints, falcons, and Bucs have nearly died from laugh at Panther's expense. Dave did say a few times this will be his last job. He did leave the Panthers in MUCH better shape than herniay did in 2013. Just the timing is so bad too, but i wouldn't be surprised if he takes a consulting job. Panthers suuuuure have a need for consulting given the recent events, herniay should hire dave to teach him analytics(all herniay been preaching) and how to watch film correctly.

This petty tug of war between fans arguing about what Hurney did or what Gettleman did has morphed into some seriously pitiful buffoonery.

Stop crying about Gettleman, stop complaining about Hurney, stop bitching about the players being greedy, and start looking at the one man in front of it all.

You need to just go away until you can start sitting on Cams Dick again.

Edit: Oh wait, you already did that.

Jeffrey Lurie has always been a meddler

And the Philly media crushes him. As does the NY media crush Woody Johnson. Even Mara took heat from the local media this year for the handling of Odell. Not the soft Charlotte media. Joe Person and whoever else works at the Observer don't say two words.

This is an incredible post. I don't understand the Hurney hate. Just because someone is stupid enough to hire him, it doesn't make him a bad guy for accepting. There is one clown running this circus, and he has been the one common denominator to two decades plus or mediocrity.

The curtain has been pulled back on the Panthers front office and how JR wants it to run and it's downright scary. I have lost a LOT of confidence in JR. This team could still have a great season but the future is not looking very bright. I hope  JR proves me wrong but there is no evidence from the past that tells me he will.

Do you know what is going on and what is the long term plan? Because I don't.  All I know is that Gettleman was fired for apparently not doing what he was supposed to do and getting into a pissing contest with Richardson. Richardson brings back Hurney until he can find someone else and Koncz is fired who was likely a big Gettleman supporter.

What else is happening that is so earth shattering.
