First of all the issues in New Orleans with their owner and family makes this look like kids play.  As for was Gettleman the best GM ever? We haven't had many in our short history and until we win a Superbowl and at least have back to back winning seasons, I think our greatest GM hasn't arrived yet.

If our greatest GM hasn't arrived yet than our greatest owner absolutley hasn't either.

Richardson is the owner, and, Lord willing, will be the owner until he sells the team to Mark Cuban :)! I've come to think that J-Rich is an old, surly, cheapskate of a curmudgeon, but I don't in any way think that he's not mentally competent. In fact, he has to have some type of intelligence considering all that he has achieved, and he didn't just get stupid overnight.

Well, he didn't really have any scouting background before getting a job in the scouting department. He worked his way up from the ticket office, one of those guys Richardson rewarded for "loyalty and hard work" by giving him a job he wasn't really qualified for.

I was actually hoping Gettleman would replace him when he got here, but instead he went with the whole "no changes" thing (something I always thought was a mistake).

So yeah, this move doesn't bother me per se, but why is it happening now?

Gotta admit that's a head scratcher.

Like I said, I'm not really bothered by this move because I wasn't a fan. I am shocked, though.

Something's going on. Got a feeling it's not good, but we'll see.

Hahaha if you think this was the right decision than your clueless. No sane person believes Gettleman deserved to be fired. Yes, I am saying at this point of his life Jerry most likely isn't sane.

If you think Gettleman should have been fired and replaced by Hurney, then you deserve 7-9 and mediocrity.
