How Panthers fans were going to react to this signing, in short form:

If the contract numbers they viewed to be acceptable: LOL you think Hurney did this? This deal was negotiated before he even crawled out of the womb.

If the contract numbers were unacceptable: LOL here we go again. Thanks Hurney. can't wait to be paying an interior lineman LT money with Matt Kalil protecting the blindside!

Actually, yeah, this deal was negotiated pretty much before Hurney got there. Do you really think he'd pull it off in one day from scratch?

Dude, I literally don't care when it was done and by whom. I think it's a solid deal and everything is fine. But those two views on this situation that I highlighted tell the story of this thread pretty accurately. People were either looking to hate this deal or love it based on who they think made it. Never would Hurney have gotten any respect for it from DG supporters and never would Hurney supporters given DG an ounce of credit on it without media outlets reporting the factual details. It's just plain silly. People were ready to hate this deal before it even became public what the numbers were, including this board's fearless leader.

He has a point, everyone on here was expecting a horrible deal when it was announced that he was extended. After the details come out its all DGs doing, which it probabaly is. But its not the point he was trying to make

Norwell next please?

Yep. We've gotten 3 years of stellar play from him for $1.5 mil TOTAL. Only $2.75 this season. The man is owed a raise! He should be quite a bit less money than Trai. Locking down the O-line for the next several years would be a big win.

I get why people want Star to get extended next but after watching the difference in this team with/without Trai and Norwell in 2014 I really want Hurney to solidify the interior OL by locking down both guards for the next 4 years.

DA is not more talented - just a better pair of hands to carry this team forward from a tactical standpoint, as opposed to Wonder Woman.

I understand that for most people football is an entertainment rather than a profession - and perhaps it is best left that way - but if you're interested in the game on a different level, there's resources I can recommend.

lmao I thought I'd never see one of these posts again after tiegate
