An old topic I know, but hey it's something besides talk about Gettleman and Hurney. What does everybody think of our planned joint practice with the Tennessee Titans this preseason? Personally I'm in favor of it as long as they be cautious when it comes to injuries. The last time we had a joint practice with a team was our 15-1 season and it really seemed like it helped out (despite the loss of Benjamin during it). Honestly it might even help with our current situation since that will be an extra chance for Hurney to evaluate and accustom himself with the guys we have available and what we might still be lacking in. So, this being said what do you guys think? Whatever your opinion might be feel free to post why you think that way.

I've always like the "joint practice" idea. I understand the injury concerns but I really feel it's worth the risk. Brings the team closer together by giving the them vs us earlier on. Plus I think it pushes our guys to develop faster b/c they don't want to get embarrassed by those other guys. Wish we did more of it.

I think we should have a joint practice with a team up north so we can get our guys out of the ridiculous heat for once and into a more congenial learning environment in which to hone their craft. I brought this up on the forum last offseason, but I'll say it again: after attending numerous training camp practices, I'm convinced that too much of our guys' physical/mental energy is spent simply enduring the terrible heat and humidity. I have a tremendous respect for the way our players battle through and endure it, but come on...we need the bulk on the focus to be on getting as many quality repititions as possible, not on "getting through" practice.

The old school coach's mindset that our harsh camp makes our guys "tougher than the other guys" is overwhelmingly refuted by our rich history of slow starts to a season. A well-orchestrated padded professional football practice in 80 degrees requires plenty of toughness and allows for better professional preparation. The Patriots always seem "tough enough" to me.

Will be a nice opportunity for the organization to catch up with Ryan Cowden, hopefully.

Actually, yeah you are right. I didn't even think about that additional little bonus. They could have a nice little chat, while staying within the rules to avoid any insinuations of tampering of course lol.

I can see your point but at the same time training in the heat here does get them ready for playing games at home in our high temperatures. Then again if we were to ever have a Preseason game with Green Bay I wouldn't be against having a Joint Practice with them. Don't get much better having our defense practicing against Aaron Rodgers while our Offense goes against Ha Ha Clinton Dix and Clay Mathews

This is the conventional wisdom, but again, our history of slow starts across seasons (when temperatures are hottest) does not support it.
