He was pretty good and he was certainly a helluva lot better than Hurney and now he's gone and Hurney is back.

Bottom line he made critical mistakes, a lot, and half the forum tried playing it off as him not playing games, or taking any bs, in reality they were dumb moves even the top NFL gm(besides bill) would or wouldn't make

Again, I think Hurney gets a bad rap...  He did what JR wanted him to do.  With Gettleman, I think JR experimented with allowing the staff some autonomy, and Gettleman proceeded to swang the big dick around like no GM has ever done in history before, REPEATEDLY, to the point where it became a national story, multiple times - which is not how JR wants things done.  He doesn't want that spotlight on the organization.  Thus he was fired.  Hurney wasn't great.  Neither was Gettleman.  They both had some incredible hits, and some legendary misses.  

But, ultimately, it doesn't matter, because JR is running things.

Only Benjamin and Trai Turner remain from our 2014 draft and Benjamin could be gone next year. he's no better than hurney.

The only thing he's good at is managing the cap and finding bargain bin FA's. Even that's questionable (see 2014 offseason).
