Gettleman Statement?

Dude simply hiked his shorts up to his nipples, gave a sly smile, and walked off.

he probably waved bye-bye wearing those three rings he got while working for the giants and broncos and whispered to JR "this is as close as you're ever going to get to one of these"

Gettleman probably told JR straight up, "you hired me for a reason, now either let me do my job or fire me".  JR obviously went with the latter this time.

Gettleman will probably have a grin on his face the next time he speaks to the media and say "hey, we had some great moments in Carolina, I did what I thought was in the best interests for the long term of that franchise, and I wish them all the best."

I'm gonna miss that Boston son-of-a-bitch.

I don't agree with the firing AT ALL, but what's done is done.  I've always thought Hurney was a really nice guy and I've respected his continued involvement and contributions to the city since he was let go. He does make sense as an interim. I remember when Hurney would go on WFNZ and take questions from fans and that took balls.

A lot of us....myself included look hard at Hurneys last 3 years with the Panthers and judge him on that. He did a bad job...but he was also dealing with a lame duck head coach and an owner slashing cost because of the impending lockout and new CBA. Prior to that period....he was considered one of the better gms in the league.
