Yay, back to signing players to way too much money and send us down into the cellar. Yes, please re-sign our 34 year old injury prone linebacker to a multi year deal going into a year where he is being actively replaced by Shaq. This is beyond logic at this point.

I love TD and what he has done and what he has been through. Huge inspiration. 

 

But dismantling the best situation we have been in and the best weve seen looking forward? Ultimatly i blame Jerry. He made the choice. But aging vets in his ear irks me.

I don't think any differently about TD or Olsen.  It's a business...  And not to rehash all of the blow ups Gettleman was involved in to where players took it personal, but it was more than other GMs have in an entire career.  Yes, a GM has to make the tough decisions and at times move on from fan favorites and vets that are on the decline.  But, there's a way to go about it.  I think of situation like with Randy Moss when with the Pats, or Chad Johnson there as well...  they were traded/cut and as far as I know, to this day, have never said a bad word about Belichick or their organization.  From the outside looking in, Belichick seems like a complete, stone-faced asshole.  But, he treats players with respect.  From a lot of former player's reactions, and the way TD is carrying on in the aftermath, it just tells me that the way talks were being handled was unacceptable...  it just happened to be TD and Olsen with whom the straw finally broke the camel's back on.  I don't think they were being shady, I just assume things had gotten so ugly that it couldn't be ignored any longer and JR made a quick decision.  But, who knows...
