Outside of Gronk and Hernandez, how many teams have had pairs of TEs worth a poo? Don't try and say Shockey and Olsen because Olsen by himself has outdone 2011 the last 3 years. Same thing with Gates and Henry last year, Olsen had more yards than the two of them combined.

You are complaining about a non-issue. Would you rather have 2 TEs on the field combining for 1000 yards or 1 TE and a lame slot guy like Funchess and get 1400 yards? I'd rather have 2017 Olsen and Samuel playing over 2011 Olsen and Shockey.

lol improving the depth of your roster at important positions is a non issue apparently to this guy. I went round and round with you on this issue about our OL too. I'm not even going to bother arguing with you because Gettleman could take a dump on your lap and you would slurp it up.

As part of the best D-line in football. Good players are never a wasted pick and it's utter stupidity to judge Butler to be a bad player after just his rookie season. If you're just going to judge him by the fact that his position is a deep on on the team, then Luke Keuchly was a terrible pick too because we were stacked at pressing at the time.

You don't draft first round players to be a career backup for your team. We had more presing needs that needed to be addressed.

We weren't stacked at LB. Beason was coming off a serious injury. Kuechly was drafted to begin his career as an olb. Injury to Beason shifted him back to mlb.

Do you even read posts, or attempt to comprehend them? Nowhere have I stated he was a terrible GM, or that the timing of this is just fine. But trashing your own key franchise players is the sort of behavior I would expect to see from Saints fans. I'm not going to pat someone on the back for behaving like an asshat because their GM they idolized got the can.

So which part of this quote did I misinterpret, smart ass?

"The pro Gettleman crowd raging throughout the Panthers forum right now are about as nutty and delusional as a bunch of cult members. It's truly a sight to see".

Have you somehow not seen the countless pages full of fans the last 24 hours calling TD and Olsen greedy babies who ran to JR to get Gettleman fired because he wouldn't give them massive extensions?

If you are going to be intentionally idiotic then I'm not going to spell it out for you any further.

Hurney is the one who put this team in salary cap hell. Stupid fans keep on complaining that Gettleman doesn't sign every big name FA out there, but there is a damn good reason for that. Hurney made it impossible.

Hurney was just as cheap before 2009.

What's idiotic is calling somebody a "nutty cult member" because they liked the best GM their favorite football team has ever had and are not happy about him being fired right before TC starts. I kind of like winning and this team had that winning feeling about them before this BS happened.

I'm more than happy to agree that just Olsen and TD wanting contracts did not by itself get DG fired. But if those two things weren't being pushed as an issue prior to the season, do we lose DG right now? I can't say that.

All I know is we started hearing that TD wanted an extension and Olsen strategically left open the idea that he could hold out because he thinks he deserves more money. Then Igo has a podcast discussing the Olsen insinuation and him and Jourdan agreed that it is likely that players, especially a smart guy like Olsen, are aware of ways that they can send a message through the media. If Olsen and TD are savvy enough to use the media to float their desires for an extension and more money then why wouldn't they also say something to Richardson while they were either in or attempting to start negotiations? Both have very good relationships with him and probably talk to him fairly regularly. I'm not saying they told Richardson to fire Gettleman, I'm just saying they planted very dangerous seeds in Richardson's head to make these extensions an issue and to hopefully get more leverage.

EDIT: Also, reminder that Oher's post points to certain players in the locker room seemingly pushing for this. Who might those players be?

I'm betting both are surprised that DG was fired because that probably wasn't their intention (edit: maybe it was?). But that doesn't change the fact that their pushing for these contracts put Richardson on the path to firing DG. They still deserve some blame for this happening. People can assign different amounts of blame if they want. Richardson is a grown man. But I give these guys a lot of blame because I've already said I think using manipulation of the media or outside sentiment to gain traction in a negotiation is cheap and this in my eyes is a prime example of why you shouldn't do it. Now they and their teammates-- and unfortunately we-- can live with the consequences.

TD doesn't strike me as a player who'd fo anything like what you guys are accusing him of.

Richardson also doesn't strike me as a man who'd fire his GM because of a player or two coming to him. It HAS to be bigger than that.

Open your minds.

Yeah and I thought I knew him too. I thought he was a true leader, a guy who wanted this franchise to win a Superbowl. A true Panthers man, all the way. Olsen too, until they started talking about those DAMN contract negotiations and not being happy. FUG THAT POO MAN, you're supposed to be a goddamn leader. You're under contract, go out there and fugging play goddamnit. A leader isn't supposed to create distractions unless there are good distractions, what I mean by that is the Tom Brady example, take less money so the team can win more with signing young dudes long term. THATS a FUGGING leader.
