I want guys to want to play here. If you're okay with guys like Smitty, TD, Olsen, etc. getting the shaft because of "it's a business," then maybe you don't need to be a fan of the football team, but more the front office.

Organizations should be built on keeping their investments comfortable and competitive.

I still haven't seen substantial evidence that either TD or Olsen, or Trai for that matter, have under performed.

If you don't want to pay guys for under performing, then we need to go ahead and cut KB, Funch, Dickson, etc.

Players want to play for winners and superbowl contenders. And happy friendly enivronment = content = a mediocre franchise that will never win a ring (aka Panthers). You don't hand out dumbass massive contracts for what players have done. You hand out contracts for what they are GOING to do. And I'm sorry, you don't hand out big contract extensions to players past their prime. With your mindset, we will go back to the Hurney era all over going.
