It's Never Easy...

I was thinking something very similar watching the games this weekend.

I noticed how often a QB broke out of the pocket and the opposing team remained disciplined and the play resulted in no/minimal gain or a sack. I could help but think how every time a QB breaks the pocket on us its like an automatice first down because the D breaks down.

if a QB has a shred of mobility all it will take for them to evade one of our defenders is to step up in the pocket and make them miss.

we can't seem to sack any QB more mobile than Kurt Warner or Bledsoe since there is no interior pass rush.

I'll agree several times we ran the ball with relative ease last season.

I can't however agree we didn't have to force throws more often than not in the passing game.

I won't even start on the defensive side of the ball.

I think we design blitzs to scare QB's not actually tackle them.

Fans have been fruitlessly searching for a defensive nickname for a long time.

Over the past few years I've thought "The Near Miss Defense" would have been the most appropriate.
