It's Never Easy...

Worked last year.

Barely.

Take away the miracle(s) in San Diego and Green Bay, give us the call we deserved to have been given against the Lions and we easily could've been 9-7 or worse if Oakland gave a damn. Chicago and Arizona #1 were nail biters, but hey, that's football.

Teams are onto John Fox football. It's time to switch up what we bring to the field.

Then again, had Kasay made his kick in NY...

Ive thought this exact same thing for about 4 years now.....and I really just dont get it. It has to be 1 of 2 things, either the players just cant get the job done, or its the coaching and schemes. My vote is for the latter, albeit Jake is terrible.

This goes back to the change in culture we need again. Look Fox vs. the coaches that have been rumored to want the job or would be considered if Fox is fired. Cowher's offenses were based on the run, but also had trick plays and elaborate passing routes. The man called or allowed (depending on who had the authority between he and the OC) a WR pass in a Superbowl. Cowher would run it smashmouth, then when you hadn't quite given up, he'd hit you with a flashy play just to demoralize you. I like to call them "f*ck you" plays.

We don't have f*ck you plays. We have "Right this way, kind sir" plays.

Indeed Kurb.

The WRs getting wide open you see against them all the time but seldom for them.

Also, they shoot themselves in the foot with penalties on offense more often than normal.

And getting a 20 yd return on KO or 10 on a punt seems impossible, but it's normal for other teams.

Ever notice.

With other teams.

Several times a game things are easy.

WR's running open in Zones.

Huge holes in the O-line.

WR's are covered.

Now tell me the last time something easy happened on the field for the Panthers ?

The first two? Last season.

The last one? It's been a while.

I'll agree several times we ran the ball with relative ease last season.

I can't however agree we didn't have to force throws more often than not in the passing game.

I won't even start on the defensive side of the ball.

I think we design blitzs to scare QB's not actually tackle them.
