Yup, sure does. Apparently at the most recent owner's meetings, Carolina had representatives touching base with potential GM candidates about being Dave's successor once he retired after the season.

It was done over the TD and Olsen situation but JR started wanting Gettleman out after he refused to give Norman a deal. JR was close to Norman and thought he was worth the contract. Rumors are saying that was the beginning of the end.


Which begs the question, why not fire him and let Beane take over.

I'm still confused about that.

Which again brings up the question of why any competent executive would want to work here.

Would you want to work at a job where you know that in order to succeed, you basically have to go up against the guy who owns the place?

Never thought about it but what if they asked Beane and he turned them down and then went and looked and got the Buffalo job. Hmmmmm
