Richardson couldn't take G-man because he wasn't a yes man like Hurney and actually was capable of making the hard decisions such as not giving ridiculous contracts to players past their prime

Richardson has literally been the worst owner in the NFL ever since Al Davis finally kicked the bucket. The guy is an asshole. I don't care if he waved at some Carolina Huddle dot com tailgate 10 years ago.

Move the team to St Louis, take Jerry with the gang, demolish boa, and completely restart the NFL in the Carolinas.

If that is true, it just makes this decision that much worse and all the turmoil unnecessary.

Also increases the likelihood this was done over big contracts for aging stars.

Yup, sure does. Apparently at the most recent owner's meetings, Carolina had representatives touching base with potential GM candidates about being Dave's successor once he retired after the season.

It was done over the TD and Olsen situation but JR started wanting Gettleman out after he refused to give Norman a deal. JR was close to Norman and thought he was worth the contract. Rumors are saying that was the beginning of the end.


Which begs the question, why not fire him and let Beane take over.

I'm still confused about that.
