i don't know how to feel about this, I've cooled off DG since Norman and the tag, still think he was a great GM but the timing here doesn't feel good. Just a lot of questions, who is taking over? Who is giving out extensions now? Is JR taking control of the contracts? This seems like a disaster tbh.

 

Not saying it is....but not all owners run their ship that way.  It isn't the only way.

but I think Dave's ego was the biggest issue and him wanting a Dave team that pointed to him and his ways

And if your still not convinced. Ask yourself how many times over his tenure Norman has cost us with unsportsmanlike penalties...

and if at that point your still not convinced statistically a rookie did as good as a league star. Ask yourself which one of them is willing to punch Cam Newton?

im not hating on Norman or the rescind and release. I'm not saying he's a bad player. I'm saying I feel gettleman found a quality guy and perhaps a future league star in Bradberry, many of whom claimed he was a poo pick. 

Norman made his own bed, and yes it sucked for the panthers at every level. But I respect Gettlemagic for keeping us out of Cap hell. 

A true leader is not marked by the victory speeches they make, but being able to deliver the bad news and make those decisions.

Yeah, I have, and I don't agree with you and neither do the statistics or the tape.

I also like the cute comment about the unsportsmanlike penalties. Which was a nice narrative over the few years Norman was benched, but if you actually look into it you'll find he wasn't anything but average when it came to penalties. Now Teddy Williams, that's a penalty machine.

if the replacement can do exactly what dg did but in a respectful way i'm happy, also no more getting too cute in the draft or show of power moves, there's really alot to look forward to, but there's also the chance we sign someone worst then him

If the morale is low, especially with veterans, with a Super Bowl roster and the reason is Gettleman, then this makes sense. Gettleman came in a fixed the cap and placed the team in a more than decent position to win a Super Bowl.  However, if true that veterans are disgruntled shows, perhaps his long-term strategy maybe lacking, and its now time for us to get a GM that can take it from here.  What's the incentive for young players to take discounts in long term deals with the franchise that drafted them if they're going to be dumped like trash in their latter years?

owell. If he was truly horrible with players then so be it. I just REALLY hope we get someone conpetent in there. I was a HUGE gettleman fan, but something must have been festering. Its a shame because the moves he made really were what i thought were the right moves. Gotta move on from older players who want prime money. It holds you back

I don't disagree whatsoever, but I'm just telling you guys the reality. The Facebook mommies were so upset when we left the cuddly teddy bears like Smitty and Williams go; they were really getting upset with what was happening with Olsen and TD. Our team is basically ran by Facebook mommies.
