Dave Gettleman FIRED as Panthers GM

I hope the new GM starts by cutting the fat. There are several JAGs on this team that should have been gone last year that could be replaced cheaply. The money from these cuts can go to resigning the key pieces.

I hope Ed Dickson is sweating hard right now.

Belichick rubbed a lot of people the wrong way too. But winning cures all.

Oh, absolutely Belichick is the fingernails on the NFL chalk board.

I'll take that 1000 times out of 1000 over a brown-nosing yes-man.

funny people keep bring up this terrible locker room yet every player over the last few years has gushed about how great our locker room is and how it's the best they've ever been involved with

funny that people keep assuming we're immediately going back to Hurney-esque contracts and that we're going to be in the cellar of the division because we fired the GM the week before camp.

Just increase your chill and lets see what the underlying reasons for this were.

At the same point in his career? Well Josh Norman at this point in his career was in Rivera's dog house for some unknown reason, and Bradberry was forced into being the top CB as there were no other alternatives.

I hope to god a second round pick that is given the number one CB spot is playing better than a fifth round pick that couldn't get playing time.

Looking at the notebook. He has "playing terribly" marked down in the reason column, along with a drawing of a dong.

Feels like an emotional move by an emotional owner who can't separate loyalty and business. Time to bring in a yes man who will do what Richardson tells him to do. Guess we'll start paying guys like we used to and miss out on retaining guys like Turner, Norwell, and Star and be back in cap hell. Dumb move

The bottom line is that Norman wasn't nearly as good as Bradberry as a rookie. If it was because he was in the coaches dog house, that does not make it any better.

Honestly, I think Norman would have done as well as Bradberry, but obviously I can't prove this. Josh Norman did however flash in the snaps in preseason he was given.

Well poo. What are we going to do, sit around and cry about it? There were things happening behind the scenes that aren't going to come out unless there's a leak. So, we go on.

Cheer for 'em, because they are still our Panthers, no matter who manages the team.

This sums up how I feel.  Nobody on this damn board really knows how well we'll do in the upcoming season or any seasons beyond that.  Not sure how you can say "we're fugged forever" and also don't understand how you can be overly happy about the move either.

And to the posters talkin' about "this makes me question whether or not I want to be a Panthers fan......GTFO of here with that nonsense.  NFL is a business and there is a TON of parody from year to year these days. (Pats excluded dammit)

Just want this captured for posterity.

I know a guy who likes to do that....his name is Dave Gettleman. You want a guy that cuts fat? LOL Panthers are about to be loaded with fat deals for mediocre players.

Say hello to James Anderson 2.0
