Luke, Cam, TD, Olsen, KK all got contract extensions with Gman... We let Norman walk and rightfully so, Bradberry has done equally as well at a fraction of the cost

Bradberry looks amazing as a rookie, but let's not kid ourselves, he's not Norman, not yet. You guys can keep bringing up advanced statistics on how our corners last year were great, but the Panthers still had nearly the worst passing defense in the league last season.

Gettleman drafted 1 of those, the rest of them are thanks to Hurney

Thankfully Gettleman did not have the audacity to low ball players not even "his"

After every shady ass Gettleman move y'all made sure to remind me that this is a business. Now suck that poo up and understand he just fell victim to that same business.

While it remains to be seen whether this was strictly a business move, I have trouble believing that it is based on the timing. GM's aren't part of the cap. Results were positive. The whole thing stinks of something personal to me.

There's always been tension btwn front office and locker room b/c of unpopular moves Gettleman made. I'm told it's only increased of late.

"unpopular" meaning that richardson disagreed with them and wanted to do things differently. the problem is that gettlemans formula is a proven winner while JR's philosophy is a proven loser

btw, for those that don't know...

the 3 year stretch prior to gettleman taking over = worst 3 year stretch in franchise history

the 3 year stretch after gettleman arrived = best 3 year stretch in franchise history

The timing of this is what is the most odd to me. I doubt we will ever truly know but I would like to know what exactly got Richardson to this point. Gettleman was a mixed bag to me. Tremendous successes and tremendous failures in personnel decisions. I didn't approve of the shitty way that he dismissed some of our vets, but that isn't something I would FIRE him over unless there was some damn mutiny afoot.

My uneducated GUESS is that this has been brewing for quite some time. I just wish we knew what the ultimate factors were. Oh well, move on and hope for the best. That is about all we can do.

I want to hear from Jerry and Ron. I also want to hear from TD and Olsen.

This is crazy - not sure if I am in support of the move or not. Knee jerk reaction is "NO!!" but I don't know if DG has turned off a lot of players around the league and IN HOUSE. One thing I like is that DG was able to make it truly a business and able to cut players that needed to go - a Fan, like myself, would never be able to make those hard decisions he made (Smitty, D.Will, Norman). In hindsight, I think all of these were the right moves to make but I hated them when they happened.

Bet JR got tired of treating guys like Patriot players

But is that a good thing? I'm sure there is some sort of balance between that and Hurney-type moves. I'm not sure what that is, I'm guessing TD was just untouchable, if the rumors are correct.

i don't know how to feel about this, I've cooled off DG since Norman and the tag, still think he was a great GM but the timing here doesn't feel good. Just a lot of questions, who is taking over? Who is giving out extensions now? Is JR taking control of the contracts? This seems like a disaster tbh.

Just like Norman he is a product of the scheme.
