Oh my GOD, this is going to be the funniest day in the history of this site. 90% of you worship Gettleman AND also can't tolerate any criticism of the team whatsoever. I cannot wait to read your reactions.

If you're laughing, then you're a shitty Panthers fan.

Firing of a GM right before the season starts shakes things up a lot. Especially when you consider that there are two important vets waiting for new contracts/extensions right now and a total newcomer is more than likely coming in to make the contract calls now. So, yeah, if the team was right on the edge of having a successful season, I don't think it's crazy to predict this pushes them to the other side a bit.

I am not one that believed we were on the verge of a Super Bowl run(like apparently some do). Mostly, "wait and see." And, I am just not buying that this will have a tremendous impact on our success next season. Minimal at best and largely from the distraction aspect, which will probably die down before the season even starts. He isn't a coach. He isn't a player. This should have minimal impact on team dynamics, play calling, player production, etc. I can't buy into that argument.

I won't cry over this.  Never a Gettlemen fanboy.

I imagine....more was on the horizon in regards to how Dave was going to treat veteran Panthers.  Dave probably wasn't going to budge from his ways.  Richardson then fired him.  My guess.  Olsen deal was out there, Davis is out there, etc.  Bet JR got tired of treating guys like Patriot players
