Dave Gettleman FIRED as Panthers GM

This has to be over the way Gettleman treats players. It's 2017, not 1950, you can't treat everyone like they are a bought and paid for commodity which is exactly how GMan looks at his players. Sure you need to be able to make tough decisions, but the whole "it's just business" BS doesn't always fly.

I don't disagree, it's not my mentality to treat people that way either. However, if you look at a lot of the greats that run businesses or a huge corporation, most are the cut throat "it's just business" type. I'm not saying I disagree with you, but I think it's a fine line. And I'm curious as to how this went down.

Was just about to say this.  I'm sure the fact that TD and Olsen weren't happy about their contracts and becoming potential hold outs didn't sit well with Big Cat.  We know Dave has no emotion when it comes to players and contracts.  Business is business, but Big Cat runs this organization like family.  So after the Steve Smith thing, and the JNo thing, it appears JR had enough and was not about to allow 2 key players to walk due to a stubborn GM.

Running the team like a family, or the owner running the team at all, is what makes you the Dallas Cowboys of the last 20 years.

I didn't always agree with Gettlemagic, but it seemed to be working.

Looking forward to paying half our salary cap to Greg and TD, and finishing 3rd in the division for the next 6 years straight.

This is one of the better days for this organization.

You all should be celebrating instead of looking stunned.

Who cares if we return to salary cap hell and never hit on draft picks past the 1st round anymore anyway?

SMITTY CAN COME BACK!

AMIRITE?
