Quick Rival Thread: Why DeSean Jackson's Potential Is Capped By Playing With Jameis Winston

@Saca312 Yeah us and the Saints really skew those numbers to both extremes. The 2 best offenses, coupled with 2 of the worst defenses.

We got the week 4 bye this year, which I hate, especially with all our division games being at the end of the year. We could have a 2 game lead going into November and them ish the bed, which is the very Atlanta thing to do.

That's our schedule. We have a bye week in week 11, and generally very favorable timing on everything.

So, to break it down:

  • Four October Away Games
  • Three December Home Games
  • Only Two Prime-Time Games
  • Week 11 Bye Week After MNF Game Against Dolphins
  • Only ONE Short Schedule In Between Lions and Eagles
  • Division Games At Home First
  • Only WC Game Taken Care Of Week 1

I get talking down our opponents. I do.

But to say that the Bucs won't be a threat is flat out ignoring what they have.

While Winston hasn't been as good as some expected, he has played like i have expected him.

So many fans expect these QBs to be able to do it all their 1st or 2nd season.  Winston is a good player, that constantly looks to improve himself. He has a supporting cast that any QB would love to have.

Not saying they'll be unstoppable, but let's stop talking like they are trash.

They'll be a tough cover no matter how you look at it.

Jackson's never played opposite a guy like Mike Evans.  Winston is young and definitely knows how to lead so I assume he's improving those parts of his game that may be a tad less refined.

They've got a squad.  We need to bring our A game and not underestimate a team like that.  I personally think Jackson will eat once they build some rapport.

That's a pretty favorable schedule. We have 3 short weeks, 2 against the fugging Saints.

There was a LOT of smoke for there to be no fire. Dude has flashed known gang signs during NFL games.

The NFL and Goodell have proven to suspend when there is as much as a puff of smoke. D-Jax came up in a tough neighborhood where I'm pretty sure that some of his associates and probably friends were gang members. Hell, more than a few would be in jail or outta the league if that were a crime. He was immature to say the least, but he's really never been a legitimate problem child in the league. If he were, then Goodell would have smited him by now.

You are old enough and wise enough to know about the media's negative hype machine as it pertains to some NFL players. In many ways, Cam is the poster child for undue, unwanted, unnecessary and overblown sensationalism.

I'll just leave it at the that.

Very true. People ignore that gangs - while a negative influence overall - play a complex role in the social fabric of many excluded communities, a role that is not 100% negative.

For as long as we continue to effectively consign millions and millions of Americans to a de facto system of social quarantine, let's not be surprised if they don't all join f*cking Boy Scouts.

I'm really curious why DJax has been somewhat of a journeyman for his career. I get he is a dynamic playmaker (or at least was once), why wouldn't teams find a way to keep him? Just my .02 without doing any research on him

He is going into his 10th season and 3rd team, I wouldnt call that exactly a "journeyman." He does have some questionable character concerns but I dont think they are the reason. I am sure the Skins are looking further down the road and have limited money to offer.
