In itself, it's fairly meaningless and silly, and I'm just being a grouch. But it signposts that this organization is driven by marketing and marketability at every level - not by football. It's an ass-backwards situation that often has far more serious consequences - like starting a charismatic and marketable, but reckless and erratic, player at QB over a more reliable pair of hands. 

Marketing isn't everything - it's the only thing.
