Ive been dying for Hornets material to read as well as fan reactions

anyone go to Hornets Planet?

i know Proudiddy is over there..

dude that place is sad. It make me sad. It struggles to have half the activity that this sub forum has. I know its partially due to people like me who were a panthers fan first and became a bobcat/hornets fan second, that and non hornet fan huddlers who post poo...

idk. Just depressing.

a 30 page thread here with the sane topic would get like 9 pages over there.

Good poo zod.

not so much talking poo but wondering if anyone here is part of that ghost town over there

Most NBA MBs aren't like the football realm. Reddit and general discussion boards with team subs are the biggest.

I think this is because people like following individual players as much as teams (James, KD, Curry, etc) whereas NFL is very team oriented. Just my two cents.

Realgm Hornets forum is the best hornets forum out there imo. Tons of threads and typically pretty active discussion

I go to RealGM as well from time to time but rarely post.  Lots of dudes on that board are serious couch GMs who think they know it all and dont really know shet.  Hornets Planet is ok but not many posters as someone mentioned.

As far as HornetsPlanet, the founder Ziggy is AWESOME, but by no fault of his own, the forum does struggle to keep consistent discussion going despite having a lot of really informed, quality posters.  I joined there way back in the early Bobcats days and it's always been kind of slow traffic wise, but I go where I can for my Hornets discussion.  They did a really good job with the game chats there, but I haven't been in one for a couple years now.  I'll have to check out RGM more often.  I've always browsed for the news and rumors, but I don't think I've ever joined the forums.

As PSC alluded to, I think all Hornets dedicated sites will see an huge increase in activity once we establish ourselves as consistent winners.  Hell, I was relegated to posting about the Panthers on The Observer forums before we got the Huddle, lol.  I think this season will go a long ways in fostering more activity...

RealGM-Hornets gets the most traffic; unfortunately Hornets Planet just doesn't generate enough consistent discussion.

Yeah, but the format sucks.  The mods want to keep it clean, so they don't like specific threads about a general topic.  They want everything in one place.  For example, they have a MKG thread where they want any and all MKG topics discussed.  The problem is that it doesn't allow for specific discussion without having to go into these monster threads, so things get lost.  And God forbid you want to look for something that was discussed a week or more ago.  You may never find it after having to sift through all the tangents within the thread.

Unless you're a daily participant over there, you will miss out on some interesting topics because you won't even know to look for them.  And without thread titles to use as an indicator, there is no way to skim to see what the main things being discussed are that day.  It severely limits the level of discussion over there, especially for the casual fan.

    • Exactly the type of thing he would have done here. The excuse people were stannin’ so hard claiming he would have looked just as bad. Just not true.
    • Yes and there aren't 32 starting QBs in the league either. Too many teams and too many games. The NFL has regressed over the years and game quality is lacking. The other leagues are supposed to be farm leagues but it doesn't matter. You just won't have 32 no matter what they do. The move to super athletes playing QB at all levels has lead to this. It used to be those guys played other positions but now they are QBs who can't really QB.  It has a trickle down effect too. OL can't block because they never had to. The fact that in today's game your QB must be able to run at least a little to survive is evidence of this as well. IMO they have ruined the game same as with the NBA. It's been simplified to the point of being boring.  Just look at the top 10 this season. Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs) Joe Burrow (Bengals) Josh Allen (Bills) Lamar Jackson (Ravens) Dak Prescott (Cowboys) Jalen Hurts (Eagles) Brock Purdy (49ers) Jordan Love (Packers) Justin Herbert (Chargers) Matthew Stafford (Rams) Once we get to number 5 the stats look like this: 167 262 1,845 63.7 7.0 10 8 65 18 84.5   47.5   10 TDs and 8 INTs??? At number 5??? There was a time not that long ago that he wouldn't even be a starter.
    • I'm not convinced that the NFL is any better or worse at developing QBs now than they were 20 years ago.  I mean I'm sure there are some developmental issues at play, just not sure it is any different than it has been. The biggest difference IMO is that NFL teams are waaaaaaaay more willing to invest a 1st round pick into a QB now than they were 15-20 years ago.  A guy like Colin Kaepernick would probably be a top 5 pick in 2025, whereas he went in the 2nd in 2011.  Would a guy like Trey Lance go top 3 in 2010?  Hell no.  Look at Russell Wilson - he didn't go until the 3rd round.  The standard for being a 1st round QB has dropped. So it may seem like we're seeing more high-profile busts at the position, but we're also seeing teams reach for QBs way more than they have in the past.  Someone with Anthony Richardson's college resume doesn't go in the top 3 20 years ago.
