Hornets Sign Michael Carter-Williams

this is a great addition in my opinion. he had a turrible year with the Bulls, but the first 2 years of his career were much better. if he can get into the idea of being a backup, be a little more selective with his shooting, and really embrace being a ball mover then we've got a really valuable guy to run our 2nd unit. Still really young so there's time. It takes some guys longer to not force things when they are coming on with the 2nd unit and try to win the starting job. I think if he realizes his position here as being a true bench player, he'll be able to produce more comfortably in his minutes.

We need to move zeller and/or MKG. We have too much money invested in role players. Dwight will start and Zeller will be off the bench. MKG has needed to come off bench forever

I don't think moving Zeller is a good idea, given Dwight's age(games played not actual age) and history of injuries having a quality backup is a must.

As for MKG as much as I love the type of player he is I think moving on is probably the best depending on what you get for him. Kemba, Monk, Batum, Marvin, Dwight seems like a much better starting 5 than any version with MKG and I don't see the team moving him to the bench. So trading him as long as you don't get screwed in the trade seems like the best play.

Clifford wanted a big PG so he could match up defensively against a big PG if he needed to. Perfect fit, and he's still young...

Meanwhile, it's the Gordon Hayward sweepstakes out there, and we don't stand a chance, however we were all in on the guy a few years ago and would have had him had Utah not matched the offer. Sucks, unload Marvin and MKG and land Hayward.

I only see one major downside.

MCW has never shot above 27% from three in his career.

Now he's a great distributor and he should be able to get Monk and Frank involved but if those guys aren't hitting and we need a bucket the second unit could struggle.

If you check vorped.com who does shot charts for each player it shows just how abysmal he is outside the paint.

Even in 14-15 when he averaged 15 points a game he was still a horrid shooter.

If he could shoot he wouldn't have been available for $2 million. In fact, he probably wouldn't have been available at all. Shopping for 2nd unit players is about picking your poison. MCW can do everything else required of him and still occasionally finish at the basket. You can't expect much more from a backup PG. He's a superior rebounder and passer to virtually any backup PG we've had in my memory.

Agree, he wasnt brought in the shoot 3s.  If he can defend and distribute he has a much needed role on this team.  We need size in the backcourt and he can gives us that.  Lots of potential with him if he can right the ship a little and understand his role.

Move Marvin!!!

Go after Rudy or Gallinari

Rudy Gay is one of the top players teams avoid and it is quite widely known.  He was insanely overhyped in HS, came into the league with unearned arrogant attitude, couldn't back it up, is a ball stopper, not a team player, poor transition play, doesn't actually play off the ball well, and is a locker room divider.

Why do you keep bringing him up?  An inconsistent subpar volume shooter with a notoriously bad attitude who's now 30.  Every time he leaves a team, they improve.

NO. No. NONONONOOOOOOOOO

Sure, I'm fine with that.  For those mentioning Zeller he was not good last year and Boston fans seem extremely happy he is gone.  Now if we could squeeze in Dedmon Im all for that.
