What the hell happened to the Titans?

Do you believe the words that you're typing?

Did you read any of the press releases regarding why Garcia was released?

:hurray:

Garcia couldnt beat him out (at least by Monstercat's definition). Jamarcus Russell is a starter (albeit a HORRIBLE one) in the National Football League. Jeff Garcia is a 39 year old unemployed QB right now. No team in the league views him a starter, it aint just the Raiders.

The Titans are 0-4 and just got POUNCED by their rival Jags. Fisher is about to lose his job sticking with Collins. Collins is only completing 56% of his passes, and has a lower QB rating than Byron Leftwich (who was benched after starting 0-3). He's got 1 less INT than he threw all of last year, and has already been sacked 5 times (he was only sacked 8 times the entire 08 year). With INDY, New England, the Jags, & San Fran next up on their schedule its only a matter of time before Collins gets injured or continues his shitty play forcing Fisher to make a move. Bank it!

So you're saying it would be better to put Young back in, even though in your own post you pointed out the fact that the Titans O-line is playing much worse this year than last, allowing sacks, etc., even though Young has struggled ever since he's been in the NFL? Wouldn't it be more prudent for Fisher to stick with Collins and see if the O-line will straighten out then if Collins play doesn't improve, let Young have a shot? If he puts Young out there with a suspect O-line and a horrid defense, do you really think Young will outplay Collins? I don't...

I think he would go out there, stink it up, possibly get hurt and also possibly damage his already fragile ego again.

Collins at this point looks bad. I have my serious doubts that Vince Young is going to be any better.

If you want an athletic QB that looks like he might actually be able to pass though, check out Josh Johnson of the Bucs. Granted, he's raw, but he looked decent yesterday against the Redskins.

(and yes, I'll grant that those last three words cast doubt, but still...)

Garcia was released he was never in direct competion for the starting QB job in Oakland.

Raiders released him so Jamarcus wouldnt have someone looking over his shoulder he was given the job by default, the Raiders didnt want to contend with the start Garcia BS when J-mac struggled, but he is so bad peeps out here want Gradkowski now.

Titans Jim Schwartz :seeya:

doesnt matter if its Kerry or crazy Vince, they cant stop anyone on defense so they can't run the ball like they use to which means they have to put it in the hands of there QB & i don't care who it is neither of them is going to make it better.

As serveral have pointed out, they didn't want Garcia looking over Russell's shoulder in Oakland, and from the TC reports I read about Oakland, Garcia was outperforming him.

The Titans are a totally different situation, because Young has already had 3 years to prove himself. Fisher may make the move, but it won't matter if their opponents can score at will.

Is Russell really that bad on his own or is it that the Raiders have failed to develop him?

Saw they got Paul Hackett just this past year as QB coach. Who was responsible for him before that? Was it Tollner?

A bit of both IMO, he is surrounded by rookie WR's which doesn't really help, & instead of ridding McFadden and Bush they have him try and do too much. But he still fails to make routine throws that even chris weinke could make

I question his work ethic, he seems more worried about his fur coats then team meetings

Tollner is still on the staff with some fancy title like passing game coordinator.

With a game manager at QB that Raiders could easily contend in the AFC west
