Is Anyone Concerned About Cowher.....

Killer,

Dont get me wrong Cowher would be a much welcomed change over Fox.

But Cowher is also a defense/run the ball smash mouth play coach.

I like those traits, but I want a coach who can bring in and develop a QB and diversify the offense. I am not saying Cowher could not do that, but I think Gruden is a better fit for what I am personally looking for.

Cowher did not have any stud qb's while he was in Pitt.

He did attempt to change things up with Cordell Stewart back in the day so that is promising he would not over look picking up a player like a Pat White.

He also brought in Ben , but the success of those two years with Cowher was more the success of the running game not Big Ben.

He is my 2nd choice, but I just prefer Gruden.

I think Gruden would get more points on the board which is what Charlotte needs to solidify the fan base of all the migrants

Honestly? I think Gruden would be a colossal disappointment to you. If you want a great offensive mind look to the next one. Jason Garrett in Dallas makes Tony Romo look like an all-pro, and his mentor took a career .500 quarterback with an 84.9 record and made Drew Brees out of him. The right OC could make Jake Delhomme look like Tom Brady, you just need someone who can identify and call to their quarterback's strengths while protecting their weaknesses.

Of course, if you do get someone like that you better hope he has a healthy enough ego to let someone else run the defense. And you have to remember, you can make a QB look great all you want, but that doesn't mean he will be. Once guys in QB friendly systems hit the playoffs, they tend to fold like cheap napkins. But hey, it's a fun ride to get there. :)

That's what I pretty much said to the guys at the bar who said that Cowher was coming here. We don't want another Seifert.

I feel the same way with you, Cosmo. Like I mention before: being the best doesn't mean you will success again with a different new team.

And Pantherman, you said having him as a new coach here isn't about waiting 15 yrs. to win a Superbowl or whatever how many years in the near future. Then why the hell you & others want him here next year?!? Is it because you want the Panthers to start winning a Superbowl asap? Sound like it to me there. I also don't care about the back to back winning season as long it doesn't take 15 yrs. to win a Superbowl.

I'd rather be a year in year out contender instead of a hit and miss.

Right now, I'd say our team is hit and miss.

Can Cowher change that? Probably. I'd rather have Chucky but then again, I don't write the checks.

More than one SB, I'd rather that every year we are contending for the SB. To do that, back to back winning seasons, as crazy as this seems, is a decent place to start.....

i think you are giving garrett a bit too much credit at the moment. his offense has looked a good bit less than stellar the past couple years.

i know what you are saying, though, and i agree. don't look for someone who has had success in the past. look for that someone who can bring it in the future.

that no coach has ever won a superbowl with 2 separate teams is a bit of a deterrent to going that route, imo. that isn't the sole reason but it is one of quite a few.

no retreads, please.
