Is Anyone Concerned About Cowher.....

I have said it before. If your only reason for not wanting Cowher is because it took him 15 years to win the SB. It took Tom Landry 12 years to win one. If Jerry Jones hadn't paid off O'Donnell to throw two wide open interceptions, Cowher would have won one in his 6th season. Just admit you don't like Cowher and that is the reason you don't want him here. Personally I don't care, I would rather have a new coach over a retread.

Iam i worried about Cowher, am i worried about Tomlin who won with Cowhers guys? Its a tough decision whos better... lots of intangibles. I think it counts if u took a team to the bowl and u learned from it. Foxy hasnt. Quit gurarding ur Rep and do what got u the Rep.

Was that directed at me?

As I pointed out and not just in this thread. I don't care if he comes here or not. I think it is about people not liking Cowher, and they don't want to say it. Instead it's " "He didn't win in 15 years..." I call BS on that!

Cowher won't become Seifert 2 because he won't coach here. Still, if you like the idea, here are the stats of the two coaches before Carolina.

Seifert: 98-30 (.766) with two superbowl wins in 8 seasons in SF. Overall playoff record: 10-5 (made playoffs 7 times in 8 seasons)

Cowher: 149-90-1 (.623) with one superbowl win in 15 seasons in Pittsburgh. Overall playoff record: 12-9 (made playoffs 10 times in 15 seasons)

You may now proceed to make excuses for Cowher, I know some of you are dieing to

it's coming but some of it's already here of course

Ok George seifert inhertied the 49s with great talent in Steve young, Jerry Rice Ricky Waters and a up and coming star in TO at that time. GS came to caroline and proved he did what he did. Is just inherted a great team. That proved GS could not builded a winning team. Plus GS acted like Fox is doing right now. Been layed back and looking like he doesn't care one bit about the team.

Bill coward on the other hand has proven that he can build a team up and win. wheather it took him 15 yrs are not to win a SB. The issue is not about the SB in Carolina near future. The issue is getting a coach in here who can win right away with the talent we have. Bill Coward is the man who can do that. Bill coward 15 years with the PB steelers only had 5 lossing seasons. So you can not compare GS to Bill Coward one bit.

Then you got a group of you who wants a new young coach altogether. Now I admit for the past few years a few teams in the NFL has had sucess in their first year with a unknown new HC. Like the Falcons, MD, Ravens, Saints and Jets. Justs to name a few. But there had been other teams in the past few years who have not done good even with a new unknown coach. Browns is one of them. But bottom line. You never know if you will win with a new yound coach are not. I wheather bring in Bill coward a Coach who has proven to win straight out and build up a team from the groud up. If Bill was to come in. I would bet you in the first year we would be right back in the playoffs. We have the talent on both sides of the ball. It's only a matter of new GM get Bill in here to coach and Releasing Jake and bring in a new young mobile QB to do the job. Plus we will have the 3-4 scheme back in carolina since the days of Dom Capers. Also some one said Mike Holmgram wanted to coach the panthers. Mike Holmgram is a decent coach. But holmgram ain't won the SB since 1996.

I am sorry Mr Jerry. I didn't know the owner of the panthers was on this board posting. LOL. Dude who died and made you god. You don't know what is going to happen at the end of the season. For all you know Fox is most likly cleaning out his desk and getting ready to drive off from here after the season is over. And Jerry could be already talking to Bill and asking him to come and coach the panthers next year. Who knows. You sure don't.:willy_nilly::rant:

He won a Super Bowl in 1994 with essentially a new team.

I get that people don't like Seifert based on his time here, but let's not rewrite history.

Fact is bro GS inherited a Bill walsh team that was already in play with a ton of talent in 1994 for when GS tookover. If GS had won a SB with his own build team and came to the panthers years laters and did bad like he did. Then I would think twice about bill coward. But fact is most people know in the sports world know Gs inherited and went to a SB on a Bill Walsh built team period.

Cowhers track record is amazing, and considering we have a coach who has NEVER had back to back winning seasons, I would love to have some consistancy.

This is Fox's 8th season.

Cowher went 7-9 and 6-10 in seasons 7 and 8. He was on the hot seat and went 9-7 in year 9.

That's more than enough to get Fox fired.

Walsh stopped coaching in 1989. The 1994 team looked completely different. Look it up.
But still George seifert was still coaching a team in 1994 Bill walsh started back in the late 80s before he retired.Bill walsh draft Steve yound Jerry Rice and so on. Plus Bill walsh still worked with the 49ers in the front office even after he retired. GS won his 2 SBs with a team Bill walsh started Point blank.

But thing is Bill Coward has had Back to back winning season proir to those losing seasons aswell. Unlike fox never having back to back winning seasons with the panthers.
