Guess Who's The NFL's Most Productive 3rd Down Pass Rusher

Just who is the NFL's best third down pass rusher?

It's not Von Miller. It's not JJ Watt. Don't even think about putting Vic Beasley in that equation.

It's none of those mainstream guys.

The NFL's best third down pass rusher goes to a relatively obscure name. Not many know his name unless you're an avid fan of his said team. He wasn't even considered a full-time starter until later.

His name is Mario Addison - a man who jumped from practice squad to practice squad to achieve to his point. He is the NFL's best 3rd down pass rusher.

An interesting stat for you to enjoy. Aren't you glad we locked him up?

it would make sense for someone with fresher legs who doesnt always play on first and second down to be able to create more pressure on 3rd downs. hopefully playing a bigger role won't alter his success on pass downs.

I share these exact thoughts.  To answer the question posed by the OP, yes, I'm glad we locked him up.  However, I hope his efficiency on obvious passing downs doesn't suffer with an expanded role / playing time.

Thats good but werent we garbage on 3rd down last year?

When you have Bradberry and Worley at CB a defense that is garbage on 3rd down is expected. That is what happens when you field CBs who do not want to get physical and give their body up against the run or pass to stop a drive.

    • I find it more like now that I have been forced to watch Young so much it isn’t as much of a shock to my senses.   Desensitized they call it.   For real, it just looks normal almost now. Where the first game of 2023 I wasn’t sure what I was looking at it was so out of bounds for NFL type play. I literally couldn’t make sense of what I had seen vs Atlanta that first week.
    • Lynch in SF. Great is subjective but he has done pretty well there.
    • Sure, except Stroud has the ability to stretch the field with deep passes. He did that often last night with ease, but couldn’t connect on many due to being flustered by the defense. BY9 gets flustered and can’t throw screens, let alone even think about any deeper passes. Stroud would’ve changed the franchise and done more with the situation last year. My thought at least.    the hope is that last year showed tepper that he needed to step back from football decisions. There’s a positive in most situations and maybe we’ll see a new tepper in the near future.
