I used to live beside Ace Bar on east 5th between Ave A and B.  Gruppo is legit, and had really cheap happy hour specials during the week.

I used to frequent Quinn's, Pomme Frites, Cheese Grille, Spiegel, some meatball place that was as solid as it gets, and Katz' deli. Looking back on it I should have tried a new spot every day.

Ahhhh Ace Bar.... they love their skee ball there. But a few doors down is GGs used to be Goattown, place is dank.

Back to steaks.... Del Fresco is one of the better ones along with Peter Lugers and Old Homestead. But on a low key tip, 4 Charles is legit.

I used to work on W56th St just a few doors down from Jack's. Never had their steak usually went for happy hour, cocktails are nice and the crab cakes were always on point. And pristine shitters.

I ate at that one years ago. I'm staying down on W 39th so I went to the 9th st location. Think that's the original. Some good recommendations in this thread . Only here for two days though.

While I'm sure there is somewhere decent to eat in NY, the good thing about NYC is that its only 9 hrs and 20 minutes from Sir Pizza in High Point.
