So this just happened (Oher Update)...

I'm just ready to know his situation 100% so we all can move forward.  I'm in agreement with most everyone else that he appears to be done and an injury settlement is coming.  I'd be very surprised if anything other than that happened at this point.

Completely agree. I just can't see him playing after being sidelined for such an extended period of time due to a head injury. Just doesn't look good :/

From what I've read, he's in in Nashville training and has had little contact with the Panthers, save for a conversation with Gman this spring.  I'd say he's getting tested by doctors today, but if he's still on 154 different meds this long after the initial injury, he'd better be hanging it up.

Given the intense media scrutiny in recent years on head injuries, particularly in football, I wouldn't expect the Panthers to be publicly saying anything other than that they're only concerned about Oher's health.

But, I think the signing of Kalil plus drafting an OT in the 2nd speaks much louder.

    • I agree Tenn and Texas both got easy schedules    with these super conferences they need a way to force a play in towards the end.
    • I would still rather win a couple of games in this last 3. If we can't beat either Tampa or Arizona, I will go full tank mode for Atlanta. Which means we will win that game, obviously.
    • And he will likely be banged up over his career in the NFL but will always be able to produce when healthy because he is such a fundamentally sound player. This is the polar opposite of XL. His fundamentals are almost nonexistent. Those are things we have to attempt to develop. Sadly, these are the traits of a Day Three pick, not a first rounder.  Once again, I very much doubt history will be kind to taking a halfcourt shot on a high potential, extremely low floor player over a polished, NFL ready WR. I hope XL makes me eat those words but this just seemed like such a no-brainer move at the time. Same with the Frazier move over Brooks. The only pick I liked in this entire draft was Sanders. TBH, he was the only one that came close to proving his value, for that matter.
