Offensive Tackle Depth

With Michael Oher's health in question, and his football career likely in jeopardy. When does Carolina look for another tackle to bring in for training camp, and potentially add depth at the tackle position. They're are a few veteran tackles out there which can provide experience, but will likely demand too much money. There is a guy who is a former second round pick, and although he has had injury issues, he is still only 23. Bills former OT Cyrus Kouandjio, might benefit from a change of scenery, and John Matsko does a fantastic job with OL players. If Carolina could get him at a bargain, it could resolve our lack of depth at the position. Let's face the facts, they're hinging a lot on Kalil's health, Williams finally stepping up, and a rookie Moton.

Id like to see some depth here. Maybe a veteran that gets cut in camp. Id love to pickup a 4-6th round young tackle that doesnt make a roster but teams dont easily part with tackle prospects. Id like to see depth at guard too.
I would even part with a 5th rounder to get a solid backup.

Without a doubt the tackle depth needs to be addressed. I totally agree with you, even if a trade is the only way. As far as guards, I do like the guys on the roster. Turner and Norwell don't have much of a history with injuries. Scott is a solid backup, Silatalou is a question because of injury issues. Also, Gradkowski can swing to guard if need be.

I'm going forward thinking Oher is done with football, so we have to pick up someone somewhere.  If our new Kalil doesn't pan out, we are in trouble.

I'd guess that Oher is done based on that pic he posted, and if Carolina goes into the regular season without addressing depth at tackle, they'll be done, too.

Exactly! So even if Kouandjio isn't a good fit. They need to bring in someone, and preferably someone who at one time or another, has been a starter in the league.

I can confidently say that a guy who started 7 games in 3 season and was cut because of being at best unstable in the mental health realm is not the type of former starting depth we would hope for

So when they signed Kalil and drafted Moton, they weren't addressing the tackle positions?
