That's probably because they know it's not going to happen. 

When it makes too much sense, or causes Getty to dig a little deeper into his pocket, it never happens. 

I've waited years for the Panthers to really spend some money on a free agent, and what do they do? Getty overpays Matt Kalil. I hope he's worth it, because some of that money could have gone to Maclin (or Decker).
