Throwsmack Thursday: OBJ skipping OTAs

Why should they pay him when he hasn't shown he can act like an adult?  This is just another reason not to pay him. He has shown on numerous occasions he isn't a team player with the way he acts.

Dude I work at Papa John's I am a delivery driver I I deliver pizzas that is what I do that is my title that is what I get paid for yes there are other things I do and need to do but the main thing is to deliver pizzas.
Odelle Beckham Junior is a wide receiver for the New York Giants. has he really dropped off talent wise? I don't think so he may have had an off moments but it's bounce back season. Plus it all depends on how you view Odell just like with Cam just as easily as you can say that both of these players are whiny and unprofessional One could say they're passionate and driven to be successful it all depends on who is looking at the person a lot of people are a little bit hard on players and they should be for reasons I won't specify [emoji19]

I have a hard time being empathetic when the 1% holds out for more money. I get it. But I don't respect it. Especially with all the drama, not to mention attempted first degree murder on our star CB at the time.

dont be a hypocrite. Your ass would do the same

the manner in which one would hold out, ok, but anyone who criticises holding out itsslf especially in the case is a flailing and blatent hypocrite

You don't have a clue who I am so it's kind of hard for you to speak on the subject. Nothing hypocritical about what I do. I spent 7 years in school working my ass off to start my career and took less pay to work with the company I am with now after several offers. As my efforts are noticed I'll move up with the company and receive more pay. I'm not going to work less efficiently or stop working altogether just because I don't feel like I am being adequately compensated regardless how well I do my job.

It's not just the hold out. It's the manner in which he carries himself and expects that his statistics are enough to warrant rewriting a contract. He's an entitled brat and could care less how great of a wideout he is. Glad he's not with our organization.

29 million... and he's still whining about his contract before it's even up. Stephen Curry won't even make 20 million this year (and that's including endorsement deals).

wat...Curry is most definitely going to make at least $20 million this year and he'll probably get more than $200 million when he signs his new contract. Comparing NBA salaries to NFL salaries is pointless especially when you consider Miles Plumlee is going to get paid more over the next few years than Trai Turner.

He's not signing his new contract this year. And no, he won't. Unless he gets another endorsement deal, he'll make just under 20 million this year. Golden State is set to pay him 12.5 million this year and two of his endorsements will pay him 7 million.

What are you talking about?

I would tell my son to do the same thing. Others on their high horse have obviously fallen and bumped their heads. No way he should take part in voluntary workouts. It would be considered stupid in some circles.   In fact, he has a right to hold out if that's what he thinks will effect change.

There's a reason why a rookie cap exists.  If OBJ actually gets paid after doing this, then may as well go back to giving your rookies the richest contracts on the team, before they've proven themselves.  This is not about the owners screwing anyone over, it's about who gets how much of the cap.

In 2010, Sam Bradford signed a 6 year 76 million dollar contract.  Even worse than that, JaMarcus Russell got 61 million in 2007.  These guys got 10% of the cap before ever setting foot on the field.  Is that fair to the Owners?  Meh, they're shelling out the entire cap anyway.  It's the vets who were getting screwed.

So OBJ wants to buck the system and bring things back the way they used to be?  Good for him.  I wouldn't want him in my locker room though.

Are you saying Cam and OBJ are comparable with their antics?  Not even close. OBJ has acted like a Jackass on multiple occasions. I don't need to quote specifics. He hasn't acted like a professional at all and has downright embarrassed the organization numerous times along with himself. If I'm the owner I wouldn't pay him until he proves he can act like a professional and team player. Has he earned it through his play?  Sure but there is more to it when writing a check for $20 million a year. I want someone who represents the team well all of the time. On and off the field if I'm paying that check. I'm willing to bet if OBJ was more mature he'd already have a new contract and I'd agree. That isn't the case. I'd tell him grow up and prove it then I'd pay him.

Also

if you spear headed a dominos driver on national TV I doubt you'd be working at Papa Johns any longer.  He's already getting special treatment. He should've been suspended the rest of that season.
