NY Jets Releasing/Trading WR Eric Decker

I mean, if he had ties to Charlotte (like Andy Lee or something living here. I know nothing about Decker off the field so maybe he does) and wants to go for a ring and is fine in a role like that or competing for a bigger role and fine taking a lot less than he could get elsewhere, then I can see it happening. But that's highly unlikely and rarely happens in this league, or any sport for that matter. It just wouldn't be very smart unless he wanted specifically to be here. More money, bigger role and still a competitor elsewhere? Why wouldn't he go for that.

Every Madden GM on this site believes that every player in the league is willing to sign with the Panthers on a 1-year minimum-salary prove-it contract for some reason.

Funchess is just entering his third season and even Rivera said that he could have been used better. And it's known many recievers don't hit stride till their 3rd season so Benjamin may also hit his stride this year due to acl injury in 2015. List of year 3 brakout seasons. Santana moss steve smith sr, Roy williams, Roddy white, demaryius Thomas, dez bryant, Eric decker, greg jennings, ty hilton, Torrey. Smith, javon walker, ashlie lelie, dantae stallworth and that just since 2001 and not even all for example Vincent jackson, Michael crabtree, Randalls Cobb and Hines ward didn't breakout till their 4th nfl season

I am still hopeful for big improvements in consistency from Benji and Funch, but we certainly can't count on either happening and it wouldn't hurt to bring in more good competition at WR if the price is right. Which it isn't in the case of Decker, but I do think approaching Maclin about a one year deal should be considered. He could be out of our price range too though.

I think definitely he is but many don't hit till years 3 to 4 so I mean if funchess doesn't show improvement this year then yea but many recievers dip their 2nd season and breakout their 3rd and in reality we really have 2 hitting their 3rd season cause of Benjamins acl tear he also wasn't a hundred percent last year no one is the year after an acl surgery so I think in all likelihood they could both have career best easily and I think shep may surprise if funchess doesn't take reins also have a good feeling about udfa fred ross he may sit on practice squad a year but I think he may become a number 3 receiver which is how funchess played last 2 years so if he don't improve shep could take number 2 spot and I think he has skill set to do so he played great for Tampa when they had injury s. I think garret will stay on practice squad one more year to see if he can be something but I think rookie cb cole luke may become a good backup cb maybe even starter if worley doesn't keep progressing like he was toward end of last year as for Bradbury he's gonna be a shutdown corner one day soon probably he was ranked 20 best last year after a slow start for so toward end he had to be elite level to get that high and was best rookie cb by a good margin in ratings

But I still wonder y everyone is hating on Benjamin yea he came in bout 10 to 15 lbs heavy but that's before otas everyone just about has 5 to 15 lbs to work off now as a recievers he should have had bout 5 lbs to work off but still and honestly he should be at 235 to 240 instead of playing at 245 to 250 to pick up a little speed and help break in routes I think skill positions should be required to take ballet classes because of strengthening it does as well as increasing flexibility endurance and works many of same muscles several older players took it and dl steve mclendon takes it Herschel walker attributed it to his success in career

What if he meant that he could've been used better in a completely different role? I was thinking possibly

but he'd probably drop the water too
