Coaching is why Jarrett shows bust

he catches everything thrown to him. at his size he doesnt have to be way open anyway. he can go up for jump balls. funny how he has to be wide open to get the ball but for moose or smith they can be double or tripled covered and jake still throws it to them. also how do you guys know if he is open or not or if he gets seperation? do you guys have game film or something?

He is the 3rd wr on a run first team that had more attempts last year than just about anyone and a qb with tunnel vision, a a coach witha prepensity to play vets over anyone else. what do you guys expect of him?

i have watched him at training camp in in preseason games...that is where you get the best idea of what he can do. he did better last year than what he has so far this year. what i saw in training camp and in preseason games this year was not someone that was building on his modest success from last year. i saw someone who is just there. there were always others working harder than he was. that is the problem.

This is the 3rd year for this guy so there's been plenty to see. Sometimes on tv Jarrett is in the shot. But I go to all of the home games and the advantage of seeing the game in person is that I can watch any player I want to, not who the camera is on. I also paid attention to his 3 years of preseason games where he played more.

Yeah that's to me the biggest plus of going to a game. You don't see the Dbacks or WRs on tv enough to know what's what.

Rayzor, that's discouraging. To me they were showering him with the same type of praise Colbert got when he was struggling (finding the littlest thing to compliment him on, encouraging him through the media), and I even commented on that in preseason.

RE: Giants' SS-Coughlin was a hella WR coach in his day, he should know how to pick 'em and coach 'em. What's discouraging is when a coach known for certain things can't translate that to those things being good on his team. I.E. the defense and this team.

What has been thrown to him are on short out routes where he stops and the defender doesn't. That's why he gets open on those routes. He's shown that he doesn't jump or fight for balls so in the 2-3 seconds that Jake has to decide where to throw the ball, it's not going to Jarrett unless he is almost wide open or it's a desperation 3rd down throw. Jake will throw the ball to Smitty & Moose when it appears that they are covered because 8 out of 10 times they will jump or fight or otherwise catch that ball. It's a matter of trust that has to be earned.

I disagree with your assessments of our QB & coach. But I expect Jarrett, after being here 3 years, to at least begin to stand out as a player and earn Jake's trust. I haven't seen that. BTW if Fox didn't play the vets 1st, you'd see Kenny Moore out there instead of Jarrett. So don't be complaining. :P

what play didnt he fight for the ball? he catches most passes to him. also i think it is hard to judge a wr that doesnt get many chances. all i ask for is for us to feature him 1 or maybe 2 games. see what he does , THEN declare him a bust or not. not just throw him in the game when we are 20 pts down.

yeah, i was pretty disappointed in him. it's obvious that the kid has a lot of potential and the team believes that he has it. it's just they can't get that light to turn on.

his lack of push is only half the problem. jake not targeting anyone aside from smith and moose consistently is another problem.

i would rather jake spend the his throws getting to otehr guys than jarrett, though. get the ball to rosario, barnidge, williams, stewart, goodson, and even king. i think the 3rd and 4th target that jake needs to give smith and even moose some space is among that group. i don't have a lot confidence in the other WRs. i don't have the patience to wait for them either at the moment. just use the TEs and RBs in the passing game along with smitty and moose.

Geez kid, I'm not going through 3 years of game highlights looking for clips of Jarrett that aren't going to be there. That is so weak. Yes, I agree he catches most of what comes his way. I explained why, IMO, he doesn't get more coming his way. I'm not typing the same thing again.

The object of always putting our best players in the game is to win the game. You can ask all day long for them to "feature" Jarrett but if he isn't one of our best players it ain't gonna' happen. That's a silly thing to ask for because that would mean that 1 of our 2 best WR's wouldn't be playing. This isn't peewee football.

And why is he on the field when we're 20 pts down? Because that's when they consistently go to 3 or 4 WR sets. Duh.

This is his year to shine and make the most of his opportunities. His competition is a rookie. He either will or he won't. It is 100% up to him.

Moose is not better at getting open at this point than Jarrett. Moose is a better blocker. Jarrett has better hands.

Can we go ahead and put away this "he catches everything" idea? His hands aren't that good.

his hands are good. He doesn't catch everything....but I believe he has some of the better hands on the team (may be the best). If only he was more physical and could fight.
