Been three times. Would consider moving there, but my wife would have none of it. Honestly, not sure if I could deal with the the length of day thing up there though. A good family friend lived up there for six years and still goes back for a couple of weeks every year but he says if you didn't grow up there you never truly adjust to it. Then again, he lived there back in the 70s and he admits that it might be a lot easier to do given today's technology.

I love parts of Alaska. Couldn't live there when it's daytime 24/7 though. I would be like Al Pacino in that movie Insomnia. Was just in Iceland for a long weekend and had a tough time there even for that short time and it being light out for like 20 hours a day. I could, however, live there in the winter or fall. I'm abnormal like that. I love the rain and cloudy weather and snow, don't like bright sunny days, and prefer night to day. I'd love to have a place in Alaska to go to a few weeks every year like your friend.

See, I could do the summers but not the winters. Everyone up there has blackout curtains so when they're ready to turn in they shut everything down and it basically recreates night. Tough to do that for daylight in the winter though.

Can find good deals at MGM Signature and Vdara by going through the owners of the suite instead of the actual hotel.  Done many a Signature stay for the LA Kings pre-season games they used to do every year until this upcoming season since Vegas will have an actual team.

Vdara is newer and nicer, plus it is a closer walk to the Aria casino compared to the long-ish walk from Signature to the MGM Grand casino.  More pool options at the Signature though.  Vdara is a short walk to Cosmo as well.

I pulled a four night stay last October at Vdara for an average of $200 a night, including the resort fees etc.  Since I went through the owner, the parking was free as well which was great since I had some people drive instead of fly.  They used to not charge for parking but now I believe both Vdara and Signature do.

personally I prefer the Vdara.  It doesnt have a casino in the lobby.  The rooms are immaculate.  You can actually rest and get away from the hustle and bustle of the casinos.  It also has access to the trains that run between hotels.  as far as casinos.  majority of them are the same, the billagio has some of the worst machines in vegas, dont play there.  I won $4600 last year when I went to vegas playing the digital roulette at Ceasars and NYNY

As the resident degenerate Vegas gambler, i go to Vegas every other month or every 3 months for pleasure and never for work. I have stayed in virtually every hotel and in every room.

With that said, my taste in rooms really isn't a problem because to me a room is a place to lay my head down at night.

In April i stayed at Encore Tower King Suite and it was beautiful. Last month i stayed at a 2 bedroom Penthouse suite at Mirage and 2 weeks ago stayed at the Delano. I do prefer the south strip  (Mandalay Bay, Luxor, MGM, NYNY) and mid strip (Osheas, Mirage, Caesars) and do not really like the north end (Encore,  Wynn). Too pretentious up there.

I do like the Cosmo but do not like that they are a single property and not Mlife, CET, Stations or even Boyd affiliated so your play is only rated and comped there.

I'm big on MGM properties and love a resort with a great pool complex. Mandalay Bay and MGM have the best pools and Mirage is not too shabby. I love all clubs whether the newer EDM clubs with big name DJs like Skrillex, Diplo, Steve Aoki (Surrender, XS, Hakkasan, Light)) or the clubs with acts such as Neyo, Ludacris (Omnia, Chateau).

Play a lot of table games and slots. Put in roughly 3,000-4,000 daily slot coin in and can sit through a blackjack table for 3-4 hours at a time.

Nightlife...ive done it all. Even have given tips to some huddlers here on where to go for strip clubs, escorts and swingers clubs.

The only thing missing now is to have the new stadium open and Vegas will truly be my second home.

/Vegas rant over

Bellagio and Mandalay are two of the coldest places to play slots.

Vdara is beautiful. Stayed there last December and it is also pet friendly and has a stove.

Agree, I'm out there about the same amount. That city wears on you after a time or two

My family thinks im an addict but my rationale for Vegas is that my work does not allow for me to take more than 1 work day off so my vacations are generally a friday or monday. Vegas is close enough where i can feel like im far away but close enough to be 4 hours drive away.

Aria is where I go for a week out of the year. The Sky Villas are the way to stay a week in Vegas. Poker, blackjack, golf, and business with great service and views to entertain all your guests for the week. One great week.

We take out the top employees/consultants to a weekend getaway and allow them to work remotely for the week every few months. Vegas is always one I look forward to each year.

Sig doesn't charge for parking, just stayed there in April.
