Saints Nick Fairley's career could be over

FOX Sports' Jennifer Hale reports Saints DT Nick Fairley has been absent from OTAs due to a heart condition.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo adds teammates "haven't been able to get ahold" of Fairley. The Saints have yet to provide an update, but the issue could be career threatening. Losing Fairley would be a huge blow after he just re-signed to a four-year, $28 million deal. Sheldon Rankins and Tyeler Davison are the Saints' top defensive tackles behind Fairley.

Anyway i hope he can realize that hes already had enough money to have a great life without playing football.

No he didn't. He played for the Rams for a year as a decent rotational guy then got a 1 year deal with the Aints and played very well and earned his contract there. And 4 28 is hardly a big contract for a passing rushing DT like him. Either way, feel bad for the guy and hope he's okay health wise whether he can play or not, that's really not all that important.

With a talent at QB like Cam on the board and the protection of the rookie wage scale, it was an absolute no-brainer.
