Michael Vick plans to sign a one-day contract, retire as a Falcon

I admired his play... he torched us... the Panthers at the time drafted Thomas Davis just to use him as a spy on Vick it was that bad. He took Cunningham's style of play to the next level, set the template which then Cam shattered

In that sense alone, I am thankful for Vick. Would we have TD today if not for him?

As for your property statement, yes dogs are property that can be bought and sold, but I bet no one's ever been sent to prison for abusing couches. Dogs certainly have more protection under the law than standard property.

There are legal consequences for destruction of property, whether it's arson or vandalism or cruelty to animals. So yes, you can go to prison if your crimes are severe enough.

That is such an ignorant statement!!

For the sake of argument, let's suppose those same animals we're in a tragic accident caused by someone else. Would the courts award them $100k, or would they award them the cost of a new dog?

If you accidentally damaged someone's car to the point that it was a total loss, would the courts award extra money because you were attached to the car, or just the replacement costs?

How are these 2 scenarios different in the eyes of the law?

The guy served his time, give it a rest. It annoys me when people put dogs on the same pedestal as people. I hope you feel the same way about horses, deer, possum, chickens, spiders, roaches, squirrels, gators, etc., etc. They live and breathe too. Rae Carruth, the RB from the Rams that ran over those teens, Donté Stallworth, and players like them killed actual PEOPLE. Not defending his actions but jeez, priorities.

"Served his time" yet marijuana, steroids, and gambling have given superstar athletes lifetime bans from their sports. And Idc what good actiond a person has done to make up for their past. You cant take away what he did. Once a felon, always a felon. Would have have done any of the good things he did had he never been busted for killing dogs? I doubt it. I think  we need to start holding animals in higher regards

I hated Vick when he was in Atlanta as much as anyone.  I thought he was a scum for what he did to those dogs.  However, the man served his time and kept out if trouble and his nose clean since being released.

He served his time....I think it is fitting for him to retire a Falcon.

Using marijuana has NOT led to a lifetime ban.  In those instances it is the habitual breaking if the rules that led to the ban.

and, as for gambling....we are talking about someone who gambled on his own sport and team.  That is a huge issue.
