In all seriousness, those who use "lack of playing time for Shaq because of how little we play base 4-3" as a defense are actually playing right into @#PanthersKing's argument.

This shows that a 3rd linebacker isn't as important as a starting safety.

This also shows that the initial "Shaq has the athleticism and ability to be a big nickel" hasn't been the case.

 

I like Shaq by the way and I believe his value is down the line as Thomas Davis winds down, but better arguments than the above should be made in Shaq's defense.

Good thing Davis is already slowing down. Noticeably lost effectiveness last year. I smell a regime change coming.

Looking at this graphic would lead you to believe he Panthers had a good pass defense last year instead of nearly the worst in the league.
